Thanks Susan! I think that's a great suggestion and I'll try toning it down a bit. |

Happy Holidays Ella! Your still-life's are always fantastic, this is a genre of photography I've never attempted and not sure I could. I think the composition is well balanced and the horn's circular shape draws your eyes and creates flow. I like the smooth gradient background which adds depth and makes the subject stands out.
Just my two cents worth but I think the pinecones could use a touch more light to bring out their texture and presence in the composition. |

Hi Susan! What a neat little shop, kind of makes you want to go in and just wander around. I think those doors make a great natural frame, drawing your eyes into the shop and creating a sense of depth.
The texture on the exterior walls and road are also part of the story and in this case, I think they could use a little more contrast to add dimension and interest to the foreground. Just my opinion, it's already a great shot as is.
PS: Every time I see something about Marrakesh, I can't help thinking about that great song by Crosby, Stills and Nash! |

Hello Ed! Man, what a moody, dramatic shot! I like how you've reduced the amount of foreground and let that sky tell the story. Many times, I've seen those summer storms as I was heading south on US 441 or US 27, makes me miss those days.
I'm not sure what's going on with the palm trees on the right but they seem to have artifacts or over lightened? Might just be jpeg issues. |

Hi Ian! This guy's warm smile and direct gaze creates an inviting connection with the viewer and I think the tonal values effectively separates the subject from the background.
Great capture overall. I know you took the opportunity to quickly grab this shot but I find the foliage on the left slightly distracting. Might be something that could be removed with some careful editing if you chose.
And Happy Holidays to you and your family as well. |

I've stood at that spot many times and that's a great dramatic image! Getting a good sky in Iceland is always iffy so I understand the sky replacement and what better than a sky from Yellowstone.
I like the shadows across the mountain and the black sand dunes make a great leading line towards the peaks. |

John I love these types of images, the contrast and geometric shapes make a powerful composition. The bright light illumination one side of the building against the deep shadows creates a dramatic effect.
It's hard to tell from looking at this online but it seems to me that the bright area is blown out a bit? Just wondering if there was a little more texture to those panels. |

Thanks Ella! Fortunately, it's less than a mile to hike to this area, but it is out in the middle of nowhere. Utah and NW New Mexico are two of my favorite places out in the west and I go out every year for several weeks at a time. |
