96 Apr 24 Comment Hi Viren,

I quite like your image. It has strong lines and all the elements to make for a compelling black and white composition. I agree with Robert Atkins about the positioning of the elevator and how it gets a bit lost in your current image.
I took the file into Photoshop and used the camera RAW filter and used a radial gradient to give some extra exposure and clarity to the elevator itself. I think it helps the elevator become a more noticeable component in the image. I also ran the file through Nik Silver EFEX with the Fine Art preset and did an amplify to the whites. This was admittedly done to match my own personal BW bias towards clean whites in my images- but I certainly realize your style may be different. Again- nicely done.

96 Apr 24 Comment Kudos for braving those high winds and sandblaster conditions. I like what you were trying to do but for my personal taste it is just lacking in definition/contour due to the very sandstorm conditions you were attempting to shoot in.

I did try re-processing your image but that proved quite challenging with the small file size JPG. I am sure with your source file RAW image you could do much better. In my processing I attempted to clarify the image and mitigate the obscuring effect of the blowing sand. I leaned on some dehaze and increase in texture. Ultimately it is a matter of personal taste. Again- I tip my hat to you for going out in such brutal conditions.

96 Apr 24 Comment All in all a quite attractive image. Robert Atkins provided a good set of suggestions for fine tuning your image. I know the temptation is to always add in a foreground element (in this case the rocks at the bottom of the frame) but for this image I think Robert is correct in proposing a crop that eliminates them from the composition.

The branches at the very top left of the frame seem intrusive and using the remove tool in Photoshop can easily clean up this admittedly very small portion of the scene.

My final suggestion comes down to a matter of taste, but I would definitely have shot this scene with an ND filter to allow for a 3-10 second exposure to smooth out the water even more. You could then easily blend in an image taken at a faster shutter speed to freeze and movement in the trees etc. if wind was an issue on the day of the shoot.
