Nancy, love the gloominess of the image. Love the clouds (such interesting formation). The car adds some interest to the photo and brings the audience back to a sense of time (pending storm). Thank you for sharing! |

Lisa, what a beautiful picture! Love the way you process the picture and the reflection really adds a great deal of interest and depth to the image. Thank you for sharing and hope you will be able to capture another image in the future. |

Thank you Audrey. With all photography there is always a "luck" element to it. I consider this a lucky shot because I was totally unprepared for mating damselflies. This was 1 of the 10 plus shots I took and the only I see some "potential". Sharpening in LR definitely helped to bring the image out. I also used PS to darken the right side of the image (the water) to provide more contrast.
It is interesting that you pointed out the parallel curving between the upper fly and the underwater plant. I did not "consciously" see it when I was processing the image. It is always to get feedback from fellow photographers to provide a new perspective on our own work. THANK YOU! |

Eric, thank you for the fill flash suggestion. I will definitely try it (and learn it). |

Thank you for the "fill flash" suggestion Jeremy. I saw a few recommendations for that in macrophotography. Using flash of any kind is totally foreign to me - I never really "get it" when I took classes in the past. I may try and ask for advice in the future. I would love to learn how to effectively use fill flash to enhance my shots. |

Jeremy, thank you for the comment and feedback. Thank you for suggesting using fill flash. I am new at insect photography - they move too fast for me. This was an "accidental shot" as I was a a trip to take picture of Osprey catching salmon that did not work out... I look forward to your dragonfly and damselfly photos. |

Bollin, thank you for your feedback and comment. I did not really "see" the fly looking at its own reflection and the indentation of the water where the fly's tail landed in the water. I really appreciate the comment; it gave me a different perspective to look at the picture again. |

Brian, you are right, these are damselflies (I just looked it up).
Thank you for your comment/feedback on the photos. It is rather insightful reading your comment - the only thing I paid attention to myself during editing was the symmetry formed by the reflection. I am glad to read about the other analysis of the image from a fellow photographer. When I edit/process my images, I just go with my "feeling" and not really think too much... it is delightful to learn about perspective from others looking at my photos. Thank you! |

Jeremy, welcome to our group!
I love the final image. You did a great job with post processing; you really brought out the coat color of the fox and the rabbit. The detail of the fur of both animals and the "catch light" in the fox's eye is amazing. The crop is just perfect! I look forward to seeing more of your images. |

The first thing that came to my mind when I saw the image was 'HDR". I like the color rendering of the image - the vibrant blue, yellow and hot pink all stand out on their own but they don't clash. The strong contrasting color actually adds some sort of richness to the image. It is a good photo.
Also as Brian commented, the guy next to the truck does give a sense of scale to the truck. Thank you for sharing Eric! |

Hi Brian, I like the leading line idea of the railroad tracks; it also adds interest to the picture. As for the train, I felt you could add more "punch" to the picture to make the train stand out more... just my personal opinion as I prefer more contrasty B&W images. |

Hi Bob, this is so distinguishably Bergen. I love your creativity and turning the famous landscape (frequently photographed) into a unique piece of art. I like both version of the render (original and the one with a hint of blue sky). The sketch-like strokes color choices really make this picture stand out. Great job! |

Jody, great image and great composition. It is a great capture. I love how the plant/flowers curves and how the dragon fly lands on it. Love the color of the delicate wings. One suggestion - I wish there is slightly more space between the tail of the dragonfly and the top of the picture (slightly too tight on top). Otherwise, it is a great photo. However, I also understand it is very hard to "control" things with macro insect shots! Thank you for sharing the image! |

Hi Jeff, the monochrome version definitely made the photo "pop"; it brings out the misty and dreamy feel of the mountain layers. The sharp power line and the corner of the house (sharp and clear) give great contrast to the misty/dreamy mountain. Thank you for sharing the photo with us! |

Michele, great monochrome presentation of both pictures. They both resemble the traditional Chinese brush-stroke style painting. The pine tree in the "original" really resembles the trees depicted in the traditional painting. Thank you for sharing the images - I was able to have a glimpse of the past in the present through your pictures. Thank you for sharing! |

Mark, like what Charles said, this is a very impactful image. The facial impression of the owner and the dog (in a world of their own - a sense of belongingness (to each other) and yet a also a sense of abandonment (by the surrounding world). This is a great photo to capture the moment. Thank you for sharing it! |
