Michael - Very nice image. In today's world it is hard to take a picture of a tourist location without getting a lot of people. I have tried to use the Find Distractions tool but the success of the tool really depends on the complexity of the background. If you look at my image from December, I originally attempted to use the Find Distractions tool to remove the people in the scene. It did locate and remove a lot of the people but left a lot of artifacts. I did use the Find Distraction for the light above the street and it worked well. One tool I have seen used but I haven't tried is to use Stack Mode with the Median option. The idea is that you take a number of images and the median option will find the common pixels across the image. This ends up removing moving objects like people from the scene. |

Mark - Really interesting image from the Oculus. As Adrian mentioned, it would have been nice to have the top centered. I do like the overall crop and would leave the lower part of the image as is. To me it helps ground the image and give the viewer a point of reference. |

I played with the image and used the feedback from the group. Here is my updated version. I do like it better though it still needs some work. |

Adrian - The nature preserve wants you to remain on the trail. :-( If I had my freedom I would have gotten closer or used a telephoto lens which I wasn't carrying at the time. |

Emil - I like the effect you created by lightening up the interior of the barn. Adds interest to the barn and draws you to the interior. I see what you mean by the trees. Now that I look at closer, I see my mask darkens the trees at the top but not the rest of tree. Kind of creates an odd look. |

Emil - Very nice image. I like how you played with the smoke from the candle. I do like Pete's suggestion/modification about add more room to the upper right. To me it gives balance between the candle and the smoke in the image. The only other suggestion, I could offer is in dark area of the candle and candle holder would be a little more contrast between the candle and the holder. Maybe in the uncompressed version there is more contrast but in the JPEG version, I can't tell where the candle ends and the holder starts. |

Pete - I like how you approached the image. Lightening up the center of the fern draws attention to the center. While the image is blurry toward the edges, I do think it draws attention to the middle of the fern. |
