Mandy, Like Mark I like how setup the image with the leading lines that vanish into the image. Definitely draws your attention along the length of the tunnel. The only critique I would have is to lighten up the image just a bit to help pull some details in the dark areas. |

Mark, I like the story the image tells. I do like the contrast in the scene. The lady doesn't get lost in the image and is one of the first things that catches your attention. |

Pete, I like the moment you captured with this image. It leaves you thinking about what the woman is reacting to. Is it a happy moment or a sad one? I agree with the other comments, the people in the background do distract from the woman but it think it does add to the story in that she is within a group of people |

Thanks Adrian. Took me a moment to figure out what you meant by wood. I am assuming you talking lighter area above the tree line. That is a good point about the lighter area. I found a Photoshop technique a while back that fixes that problem. I'll give it a try. |

Outstanding image Emil. The play between the clouds and the mountains really works well. Looking at your photo, I would crop the image so that the horizon is not in the middle. Which part of the image do you want the viewer to focus on. With the crop in the middle, it seems to me the clouds and the mountains are competing for my attention. Pete's crop put the horizon above the middle. When I look at his crop, I am immediately drawn to the landscape and the clouds add interest to the image. |

Michael,
Looking this image up on Google, this appears to be an early 50s Plymouth. That was a nice find. I am often looking for the small things that people miss, and you definitely caught a unique image that most people would have passed. The one recommendation I would have is maybe recover some of the detail at the edges of the photo. Seems to look like it goes to full black. The JPEG compression may be causing that problem.
Maybe reduce the vignetting a little. Other than I like the approach with the high contrast version you picked. |

Adrian,
Really nice image. There was a lot of thought put into this image as you explain what you were looking for. Lots of patience. It would have been nice if the racecourse was setup, so you didn't have to cut off the left turn in your image. When I first looked at your image, that was one item that caught my attention. But I saw your raw image, I saw you took the right approach to remove the clutter on the right side. It kept the image clean. |
