93 Oct 24 Reply Sure, it was 12 frames. This camera (sony a7rv) will do the bracketing itself, which makes the whole process much easier.

93 Oct 24 Reply Thanks! It was a 12 frame focus stack. I did this in PS, but I often use Helicon Focus, which I find works better if you have a tricky stack where you need to edit it.

I was very close to the ground (couple inches?).

93 Oct 24 Comment Very nice composition, and I love the little boat. The bottom right of the moon (like the 4-5 o'clock position) looks like it has a bit of an editing edge (a narrow dark border) that pulls me out of the image a bit. I'm assuming that's an artifact of isolating the moon for slightliy different processing. I think if you softened the tone on that hard edge a bit it would help. Oct 15th
93 Oct 24 Comment Nice! I like the refection of the moon on the water - would have been nice to have had even more of it. Oct 15th
93 Oct 24 Comment Very nice photo. I love the cool tones of the ice and the warmth of the cabin. I agree with Darcy about considering removing the snow in the immediate foreground (maybe move to a 2x1 crop to preserve the width). I might also consider bringing down the highlight in a gradiated form on the lefthand side (and bottom) so that the lines of brightness draw you in and not out of the frame.

Lovely scene!
