Sure, it was 12 frames. This camera (sony a7rv) will do the bracketing itself, which makes the whole process much easier.

Thanks! It was a 12 frame focus stack. I did this in PS, but I often use Helicon Focus, which I find works better if you have a tricky stack where you need to edit it.
I was very close to the ground (couple inches?). |

Very nice composition, and I love the little boat. The bottom right of the moon (like the 4-5 o'clock position) looks like it has a bit of an editing edge (a narrow dark border) that pulls me out of the image a bit. I'm assuming that's an artifact of isolating the moon for slightliy different processing. I think if you softened the tone on that hard edge a bit it would help. |

Nice! I like the refection of the moon on the water - would have been nice to have had even more of it. |

Very nice photo. I love the cool tones of the ice and the warmth of the cabin. I agree with Darcy about considering removing the snow in the immediate foreground (maybe move to a 2x1 crop to preserve the width). I might also consider bringing down the highlight in a gradiated form on the lefthand side (and bottom) so that the lines of brightness draw you in and not out of the frame.
Lovely scene! |
