For the sky processing, I'm using a technique where I duplicate the image as a layer in photoshop and use camera raw to process just for the sky. There I'm raising the whites level, dropping the exposure, maybe do some color grading, etc. Really pull out the sky without too much concern about how awful the rest of the image looks. Then I mask that resulting layer with an all-black mask and paint it in with a very low (10-20%) opacity brush in the regions I want to apply it. It's helpful to repeat that process several times (so in that case create a merged-visible layer with ctrl-shift-alt-e, do another camera raw, and another selective blend). I find using a low opacity, zero-hardness brush produces a smoother result than trying to apply it with a hard-edged mask (like using select sky or object select). |

I really like this comp, particularly the way the S curve traces through it. I also really enjoy the 'almost monochrome' nature of the finished work.
One piece of feedback is that I find the relative brightness in the lower right hand corner slightly distracting. I might try just a touch of burning there to complete the natural vignetting the picture has.

Absolutely beautiful photo and stunning location!
I really love this composition and the soft light out on the mountain. The white clouds look really close to blown out to me, and I'm wondering if bringing down the overall exposure just the smallest tad might help create just a bit of balance while maintaining the nice dark-to-light transition you have going on.
I think it might benefit from just a slight dodging on the trees at the bass of the mountain to have them be a little less of a dark band as well.
I'm attaching an edit with the levels brought down just a hair (though it can't undo some of the clouds being blown out) and some very soft local dodging on the trees.
