5 Apr 25 Reply Thank you for your feedback-I appreciate your thoughtful observations. You are correct; I used AI to remove the partially visible actors on both ends of the frame, but no other alterations to sharpness were made beyond basic noise reduction. The original color image I've included is a screenshot specifically so viewers can reference the metadata. Regarding the background, I understand your point about it being busy and potentially distracting; applying a slight blur might indeed help emphasize the performers more effectively. I'll consider this suggestion in future edits. Thanks again! Apr 5th
5 Apr 25 Comment This is a beautifully moody shot-the light is soft and golden, giving the water a painterly glow. The curve of the boat's wake adds a nice sense of movement and leads the eye right into the frame. The silhouettes of the figures are well-timed and balanced, giving the image a quiet storytelling quality. If anything, you might consider slightly lifting the shadows on the left to bring just a hint more detail into the vegetation, but overall this is a peaceful and well-composed scene. Apr 2nd
5 Apr 25 Comment Really striking portrait-the different eye colors totally pull you in and give it a cool, almost cinematic vibe. The close crop works great, keeping all the focus on the eyes. I think the black and white mask was a great call-it doesn't compete and actually makes the eyes stand out even more. The texture is super sharp too; maybe softening it just a touch could help keep all the attention right where you want it. Overall, very cool and attention-grabbing shot! Apr 2nd
5 Apr 25 Comment Hi Stephen,

It appears Barbara hasn't had a chance yet to include the information I submit with my photo. Once she does, I believe most of your questions will be addressed.

In short, yes-this is an amateur production at our local theater. I've recently started exploring show photography and have been focusing on navigating challenging lighting conditions, such as strobe lighting, while also learning how to "capture the feel" of a production. At this stage, I'm shooting all images handheld, and really just having fun learning about this type of photography.

20 Apr 25 Comment Lovely and thoughtful portrait-the layered effect adds a dreamlike, almost ethereal quality that invites the viewer to linger. The subject's gentle expression and soft pose complement the texture overlay beautifully. The black and white treatment is a strong choice here, enhancing the emotional tone and giving the image a timeless feel. If anything, you might experiment with slightly reducing the opacity of the overlay around the face to bring just a touch more clarity to the subject's features. Overall, really artistic and well executed! Apr 2nd
20 Apr 25 Comment Very cool and creative abstract! The lighting and strong contrast in tones give it a sleek, almost futuristic vibe. The composition draws the eye right to the center spiral, and the textures pop beautifully under that bold blue. It's not immediately clear what the object is-which just adds to the intrigue. Nicely done! Apr 2nd

92 Apr 25 Comment I love how the pink tones of the structure and bench contrast with the lush green bamboo in the background-it adds a vibrant, almost dreamlike quality. The symmetry of the scene, paired with the casual poses of the subjects, makes it feel both staged and candid at the same time. Great eye for color, composition, and storytelling here! Apr 3rd
92 Apr 25 Reply I agree. I tried to cut it out but it made the composition look off. Apr 3rd
92 Apr 25 Comment Great street capture-this image tells a quiet yet relatable story of daily life. The composition is strong with the woman and stroller well-placed, framed naturally by the storefront and signage, which also adds context and interest. The muted tones and overcast light work well here, though a subtle lift in contrast or midtone clarity could enhance separation between subject and background. The reflection in the shop window adds a nice layer of depth without being distracting. Well observed and executed! Apr 2nd
