Thanks, Gene! The design of the table/stool struck me as odd and in contrast to the surroundings with old buildings -- all behind tall fencing. I'll try a tighter crop. Thanks for the suggestion! |

Thank you, Kieu-Hanh! I have more images of the area. I took several. It is a very unfortunate story, and I hope things like this stop happening. |

Thanks, Pat. I thought the same about the sunny day weather contrasted against the dark story, and in BW textures of buildings seemed to get lost. I'm repeating my comment made to Jack, but didn't know if you'd see it: I've lived here only a few years, but I grew up in WV where my father was a chemist for this co. Sad to say, but I'm very familiar with their habits of polluting. |

Thanks, Jack. It's a sad, familiar story. I haven't lived in this area long, but I know the company and the pollutants well. I grew up in WV where my father was a chemist for them. |

Beautiful, Kieu-Hanh! Your edits definitely improved the background. I like the blur which forces the most important part of the scene to stand out. The flowers appear to be falling from above almost as if someone is sprinkling them. Lovely capture. |

Lovely image, Jack! I really like the striking contrasts in the scene: the sharp diagonal shadow across soft rippling dunes, the lone stand of mesquite, and the moon appears tiny above the vast desert. The colors are very nice but I also wonder if BW would work for this. Nice job! |

An exquisite and unusually-colored iris. The lighting is very nice and it highlights all the beautiful details in the bloom. Your edits were nicely accomplished and there are no traces to suggest anything other than a completely natural image. Nice job! |

It's a very pretty, and tiny, weed. Your choice of filters really punched up things and made it more interesting. I like the subtle effect you achieved with it. I had to look twice to be sure it's not real. It's very artistic!

What a great experiment and results! It's a very impressive image. I understand not wanting to carry around equipment especially when this was seemingly easy and worked perfectly for you. Forgive the nitpick, but I would remove the wispy cloud at the top. Somehow it seems better to me without it, but you're the artist! Really cool as infrared. |

Wow, Gene! That is spectacular! it looks very painterly to me and with hardly any effort. Details are extraordinary, and I especially like the natural leading lines. Great image (I'm partial to flowers). Also, congratulations on being chosen to display an image in this month's gallery! The one displayed is super. |
