26 Dec 20 Reply That's impressive! All is well for us, now. A few bumps, no Covid (knock wood) but better now -- equally lax in photo taking here. On we go! All the best-- Dec 23rd
26 Dec 20 Reply Thanks, Albert! I don't see you here this month. Hope all is well and you will enjoy a nice holiday! Dec 22nd
26 Dec 20 Reply Thanks, José! Dec 9th
26 Dec 20 Reply Thank you, Tony! Yes, the smartphones are always surprising! Dec 8th
26 Dec 20 Reply Thank you! I thought the same thing about the sky. Dec 8th
26 Dec 20 Comment A peaceful place for an escape! Beautifully composed and I love the layers through the 'smoke'. Lovely colors in the distance. I don't see over exposure, but I agree that darkening the foreground would be helpful to lead the eye into the scene and away from the overgrowth at the edges. Dec 7th
26 Dec 20 Comment A very impressive image! The landscape is fascinating with so much to see and ponder. I missed the lone rider at first-- busy studying the terrain! You handled the lead-in to the rider nicely, but I agree that adjustments will help make him more prominent. Dec 7th
26 Dec 20 Comment What a wonderful trip it must have been! I love the amazing, changing shapes of dunes, and you captured very interesting shapes. Including the lone person offers a nice perspective on size. This works extremely well in monochrome with nice contrasts. Dec 7th
26 Dec 20 Comment It's a very warm scene with good fall colors. I like that you enhanced the sunrays. I think it adds a great deal to the image. It's a beautiful barn, and the only thing I would do is remove the sign near it. The overall composition with the leading path is lovely. Dec 7th
26 Dec 20 Reply Good one! Dec 7th
26 Dec 20 Reply Thank you! I need to go back to the drawing board and try a different program. I do lean toward darker images and with each adjustment, the sky was wrecked. Snapseed is good for some things but not all! Stay safe and enjoy Christmas! Dec 7th
26 Dec 20 Reply Thank you, Anges! Good suggestions. And, welcome to our group!

26 Dec 20 Comment The colors are beautifully reflected. It's a very interesting artistic structure and your keen since of sight captured it as if each metal piece is lighted. You could crop, but then lose the surrounding sources of light and puddles. I would only crop the right closer to the structure's edge. Lovely night shot! Have a wonderful holiday and great 2021, Jose! Dec 7th

86 Dec 20 Reply Thank you, Pat! Look forward to seeing your lovely work in 2021! Stay safe and well! Dec 26th
86 Dec 20 Reply Merry Christmas, Kieu-Hanh! Dec 13th
86 Dec 20 Comment Pat, as to exif data, it goes missing for me, too, after using a variety of edit programs, or after numerous edits. Try going to the first image you started with. If absolutely needed (for contests, maybe) use a photo EXIF viewer app. Dec 13th
86 Dec 20 Comment I love that your roses persevered! You're edits created a water-color-like image and you handled the background perfectly. I prefer the blue tones surrounding the rose. Lovely ice crystals and drops! I feel like the image is a bit 'hot' for saturation and highlights but easily fixed. Seeing it in person, I may be wrong. I agree that space is needed at left. Using the app suggested is probably easiest. Another way, but tedious: Healing tool in Snapseed, or cloning in another program to clone some background around that edge until the petal looks right, then add the frame, adjusted to cover any edge flaws.

86 Dec 20 Reply Thank you, Kieu-Hanh! Yes, it was my plan not to include the whole moon. I purposefully cut it off. Thank you for noticing. I forgot to mention that step. Dec 13th
86 Dec 20 Reply Posted steps to Bulletin Board for you. Dec 9th
86 Dec 20 Reply Will get it you soon! Dec 9th
86 Dec 20 Reply Here's a very quick b/w, but I really like Marilyn's edits! I saved the steps if you decide you want them. Dec 8th
86 Dec 20 Reply Oh, that's nice of you to say, Ruth! It was a fun project. I did it for Halloween. Dec 8th
86 Dec 20 Comment Fun and fantastical! This is quite mesmerizing with the colors and designs, and it is real with no alterations. It's lovely and lends itself to a wonderful abstract! Dec 6th
86 Dec 20 Comment Merry Christmas, Ruth! What a beautiful child! It's a wonderful portrait. You got the catchlight in the eyes, and the sweet hands look like they might be praying. I don't have enough experience with BW to offer decent suggestions. I can see how it would be impressive, though, and might bring more focus to the child while pushing surrounding background colors away. If I had to choose, I'd fiddle with the tools under BW but not Noir. My limited experience with Noir has always resulted in too much grain which I believe might be one of its purposes. If I get time, I'll test your image in BW and share here. Enjoy your great-grandchild! Dec 6th
86 Dec 20 Comment This is a lovely scene! I especially like the sheen on the rocks! I am not seeing the patchiness you mention. The colors are nice warm tones throughout. I'm always amazed at the ability of smart phones to pick up light even in its absence. I often get warmer yellow-green results, but even in Snapseed I find them difficult to correct. Dec 6th
86 Dec 20 Comment I love the way turtle's beak leads the eye up into the preserve. Nicely done. If anything, I would darken the area near the turtle's mouth, but overall I believe you achieved your goal. I will note the program you used and try it. I have been using Pixlr which is pretty handy and also free with many overlays and choices. Dec 6th
