Returning the favor of your visit to my phone image. What a fun
image you created-- makes me laugh, and we can all use some humor! Very clever! |

Marti, I'm returning the favor of stopping by your image. Love this image! Your edits created a very nice painterly look. Fog can be challenging. Nicely done! |

The break you mention is due to a couple of flowers and stems being cloned into the area on the BW version. Thanks for the suggestion! |

Ouch! Nice action! Love that you got the boy's face completely sharp. That is extremely difficult to do in action shots. It's very colorful and one can feel the energy happening. Nicely done! |

This is very colorful. I first thought it was painted, and I like the creative results you achieved with the filter. I agree with the others that the stem going left could be toned down. |

Precise symmetry, and it almost looks as if the stripes are part of the architecture. You were fortunate to catch the shadows. Beautiful colors and perfectly composed. |

Oh boy, I like both! For different reasons. But the BW is very crisp with textures emphasized and is overall more impressive. The eye goes immediately to the men and one wonders what they might be discussing. You've shared a heartwarming (heartbreaking) story bringing important awareness. Nicely done. |

Wow, surprised me that this was not from the camera. You might be disappointed at photographing other slides this way, but this one is beautiful. I love the colors and the overall results. The reflections are very nice. The building doesn't bother me. It's dark and unobtrussive. Actually the roof offers a leading line, as well as the mountains. |

Thank you! I wondered about the lone flowers and bush. Considered cropping the top but it seemed to push the bench too close the edge. The building should go, so I need to get creative. |

I thought the same about emphasizing the S. Not keen on the background building either. Thanks! |

Thanks-- Snapseed has several ways to convert to BW and adjust contrasts -- 6 preset styles and numerous filters and options for adjusting within those. Or, you can use settings for tonal contrasts, high, mid, low, shadows… No levels option, just curves. I used the BW preset option for contrast, and then adjusted those contrasts and brightness down. I worried about overdoing it. I have another program with levels that might work. I'll try it.

I understand. It is 3 frames actually-- white, black, white. You can do this with any editing program. In Snapseed Tools, I selected a white frame, adjusted the size with the slider and set it, then I repeated the steps for a black frame, and again for a white one. You adjust each one using the slider and then set it each time. You can adjust it for as thick or thin as you like. I usually don't do more than 2. Not sure why I did 3 this time. |

Hi Marti, Thanks for looking! I am not sure what you mean by double stroke. Do you mean the two colors on the seeds? Let me know and I'll try and tell you steps I used. If you are referring to the seeds, though, they were already two colors, pink and green. I did punch up colors for the entire image.

Phillipa, thank you for your tip to Ruth. I also use a Galaxy and have not realized the need to change the resolution! |

Oh my, I'm sorry you've been ill and hope it was not the horrid virus! Good that you are recovering!
This is a fascinating creation. Wonderful story (and sadly true). How did you ever come up with the idea to compose using a honey pot and then compile it? It's great, especially your interpretation as it truly relates to her as a specimen of the times. Beautiful colors, shadows and swirls. I am joking, but doesn't she need to be wearing a mask? Please stay well! |

I've done that too -- realized what I planned to share was not taken with the phone. How comical seeing the duck perched pretending to be a mighty eagle! I like the choice to combine the two images. Very pretty rainbow, and I'm not bothered by the duck being midframe. I would prefer a slight crop of the cloud from the top. With the duck as the focus, the puffy cloud at top takes my eye away and out of the scene. The lighting is beautiful, and nice leading lines are offered by angles of the roof and sky. |

Ruth, congratulations on the new phone! It's an awesome one and seems overwhelming at first, but you'll catch on fast. This is a great image of your daughter-in-law, and your edits, especially a closer crop, makes it stronger. I have the same issues with things looking good on one device, and once I resize in another program it gets sketchy. The only thing to suggest is sharpen after resizing, and even then it doesn't always satisfy me. Stay safe!! |
