Oh my, how I wish! I don't know the first thing about using an artist's paintbrush, but love looking at paintings! Thank you for the helpful suggestions! |

Thanks for the suggestion! Yes, she's amazing, sharp, mobile and lives alone. Lack of vision is her enemy. |

A great rainy day image with nice action. I like the architecture and leading lines. Very glad this is an older shot! The crop is preferable I think, and because I love rain shots, I might try to emphasize more of them on the glass. I might try punching up colors a tiny bit, even though it's a dreary day. |

I love the image, especially the boy and many details in the landscape. His shoe has a hole, and his toe is exposed. I agree with others that the sheep near his hand should be removed. I don't see anything needed with the landscape, but I would remove the 4 barely visible lines in the sky to the left that cut down across the water, and 3 tiny spots in the sky - one near the top of the frame and 2 near the horizon (may have been on the lens). Great story here! |

Lovely colors, and I like how the trunk and the woman's outfit complement each other against contrasting leaves. I think her silhouette gives some perspective to the tree's size, and the image makes me wonder what she sees in the distance. There appears to be a slight shadow made by the tree, going down and across the front of her and to the right corner out of the frame. I would emphasize that shadow to add an extra element to the image. |

Fantastic shot! Capturing so much smoke, the word 'hot' and the bright orange/reds really make the image strong. I would only reduce the highlights at top right. This is an inviting story of the season. |

Stunning feathers, and I could have a lot of fun with this in Mirror Lab! As is, I don't necessarily believe a true focal point is needed if you lean to abstract and crop down the right side removing the one whole eye. But, in the app I mention (as well as others), you can do any number of things creatively: isolate one part, add even more repeating elements or create an image like Albert suggests. Sky's the limit! |

Hi Stephen, I'm returning the favor of a 'visit' to your images. This is a wonderful memory maker. Usually we see only the starkness of these wonders with no tourists. I especially like the man sitting. Tourists offer a good perspective in terms of size, and one can look at them and imagine the trudging slave efforts in construction. It's always hard to get the sky to cooperate in harsh brightness. The version with a lighter background works best, I think. Fyi, I've never used Lightroom or PS, nor have I used Elements. |

Hi Pat, your image is very colorful and creative! I am curious to know if your originals were phone shots. I love all the painted images in your group. One day I might venture into that fun world! |

Thank you, Pat. Yes, I live in Staunton and know SunSpots Studio well. I have images of the same man. One quick snap is more about words on supplies near him: "Never Stop Improving...Heavy Duty...Crap". It struck me funny. If you pass through again, or visit, let me know! |

We are our own worst critics! I don't see how this could be made any more perfect. Your edits worked and it all appears very natural and real. I like the bottom left corner, as the curve helps the leading line. Cleaning up, removing the sticks there might be helpful, and you can avoid cropping. As far as how things look on our phones and then on other device monitors, it is a forever problem for me and frustrating to be always wondering! I don't see pixelating or hairiness in your image. I especially like the 'hairy' rock. It reminds me of an eyelash! Nice work! |

Hi Stephen, I do, indeed, have a mono version! I love monochrome images. I couldn't make up my mind which to use. Deciding seems to be a constant dilemma for me. Thank you for checking in and for your kind comments! I will stop by and check your group! |

I know the bees had to be confused! This is very pretty. I like the puffs of snow and the colors, especially the blues revealed in the shadows. I think you handled the edits nicely. |

This lends itself nicely to an abstract. Reflection images are wonderful fun, especially when you find mirror images to capture. The lovely colors and ripples in this catch attention and cause one to become curious about the reality above. |

To answer your thought -- a person, or people, would have competed for the point of focus in this particular scene (which was the light). |

Thanks, Ruth. It is an alley in downtown Staunton, VA. I live nearby. Lots of old, historic buildings here. |

This is a nice capture of the two men and makes me wonder what they are discussing. It looks like they found a cool spot on a hot day. The Morning filter is fun it draws attention to the shade over them. I agree that you might work to get more textures in the rock. I would try to emphasize the shadows across the rocks and consider a vignette to draw the eye more toward the men. It's a nice story! As for frustrating online results, I battle constantly with it. You aren't alone! |

Love this artistic creation! I have experimented with Mirror Lab (with android) and this effect is fun. Possibilities are endless. I like your choice to crop squarely, and I do agree with you that it would be even more spectacular against a black background. I love the details exposed in the center and the 3-D effect you achieved. Nicely done! |

This is an exquisite transformation. I especially like isolating it against the bright background and the lighting across the top leaf. You brought out fantastic details and textures. I see the blue ghosting mentioned and a couple of healing tool spots to smooth out (near tip of bottom leaf and top right corner). If you want a perfect botanical then I'd remove the blue, but it might be tedious. As it is, it isn't offending to me. I can see this with similar others in a nice botanical grouping. |
