Sorry to be late. I just now saw your image. We recently moved (never again!) This is a wonderful juxtaposition. Love the striking architectural differences. It's very impressive in B/W. No changes except tiny fixes: the area along the left where it looks like something was removed/cloned. I see remnants of something along that side in clouds down to the left corner, and a dot in a couple of places across the sky at top. |

I wondered about the roof. Taken long ago when I was new to composing, and if I could do it over I'd look for other angles. I could remove it but may not be worth it. |

Thanks, Mervyn. The hut is actually a slate roof of an old home's turret :-) |

A wonderful view, and beautiful sky. I never tire of Grand Canyon scenes. I like your composition just as it is, all except for the bush in the middle that distracts me. I don't think you can do a lot about it though. I do, however, see more images within this one. I might test cropping away the rock formation to the right allowing the yellow rocks with the small trees to act as a lead (it is almost an arrow) pointing to the ribbon of a river far below. I believe the colors in the distance could be enhanced even more by saturating them. Even if you leave the composition as is, I would work to draw out more of those colors. |

The people are perfectly blurred, which was your intent, and surroundings are stable and clear. Everyone looks to be in a big rush! I feel that your cloned person fits and looks totally natural. I would only push that person toward the stairway more to include their feet. I like your choice of reds in your cloned person. It adds a pop to the scene that was needed and ties in nicely to the small red at the top and advertisements on the sides. |

This has several levels of intrigue. The architecture is fascinating with repeating patterns; pops of color are great against the stark hallway; the young woman's expression reminds me of stress-filled days working for a university; chairs in pairs are quizzical; and the lighting created watery-like swirls on the floor. I wish the recycle symbol wasn't in the image, but to some it might hold significance: recycle the stress... An interesting capture that makes you look and look again. |

A very nice winter scene, and I don't see any improvements needed. Your edits enhanced the entire scene for the soft fog; and, your increased contrasts portray the trees as almost silhouetted. Nice in b/w. The rain may have been beneficial in softening the surrounding snow and allowing the fog to rise. You might have been wet, but I think you were in the right place at the right time for this one! |

This makes a great abstract. I like both versions actually. The original allows more information on potential size because of the distant icebergs, and the ice forms a shape on the right resembling a face rising up (my overactive imagination maybe). The blues and sharp lines and reflections in the final version are fantastic making the hole mysterious. I like your composition for including the distant mountains. Instead of cutting through the top, I would crop a small amount from the bottom and keep more of the top. In spite of some setbacks in your trip, I think you captured an interesting wonder of nature and look forward to seeing lots more. |
