Mervyn, I like the addition of the badge. It really helps draw the eye to a focused spot. Much improved! |

Wow that’s fierce! I don’t see how you can make this any better. You captured an amazing moment and with tremendously fine detail. If anything, I might brighten the lion’s left side a little. Nothing else. I know you had to be pretty far away, but it looks as if you might have interrupted dinner (or are about to be dinner) and need to high-tail it :) Those teeth! |

What a great title! The landscape really looks like whipped cream, and I love the blues. I like the image both ways, with and without the herd. Without them, I would crop the bottom slightly as well as the right pushing the image off center (where valleys converge) so focus is placed more on the angles. I agree with Jose that keeping the herd adds to the image because it allows you to reflect on the enormity of the area, but because the group is so far off in the distance, I might try increasing their size so you see more of the antlers. |

A great trip! This is creative and almost trompe l’oeil. At first glance the window resembles a painting, then your eye travels and you realize the scene is real– looking through the window. In the horizontal version I like the bridge off-centered and I like the effect in the glass, but I do prefer the vertical image overall. I would darken the sky through the window, and for fun, remove the handle and add a piece of framing across the top to carry the idea of trompe l’oeil.

This is a fun image! I love the colors and effect you achieved from zooming. I would never have guessed the car is parked. You got tons of motion. My only wish is for one thing to be sharp on the front of the car – maybe the emblem on the front. I'm not sure how you do that after the fact, but maybe try using one of the filters suggested by Bob. |

You met the challenge! Nice blues throughout, and your edits enhanced them. I participated in the 365-challenge once and it was a lot of fun and at times quite challenging!
Unless you isolate a boat or compose to hide lines, the lines are a forever-problem. I’ve learned to accept them in some harbor images; otherwise, they are tedious to remove. The only ones that offend my eye are those in the mid-right. That area is a jumble, but otherwise, I’m not bothered by them. Your image offers a fleet of working boats, so you can’t escape the many lines.
You captured some nice reflections in spite of the murky water. The only way I get half-way good reflections around muddy water is by shooting low across the water (in the right light). If you have a challenge for ‘reflections’ you might go back and try for them. |

Great story, Bob! Together, the two of you will have wonderful adventures and experiences through photography.
I like the results and it doesn’t look to me like you went too far. Pushing textures and colors can be overdone, but this is natural looking and the beautiful jewel tones improve the drab group of leaves. I especially like the warmth of the image, lighting and the placement of the yellow leaves as they lead through the scene. You have proven that an average image can become impressive with patience and a few careful tweaks.
