3 Jan 26 Reply Thanks Joan. Unfortunately I was not able to take that many photos. It was a family party and I could not just go away for that long. I did manage to take one of the cicada emerging, which is attached. (Not as sharp as the other one.) But that one was taken an hour before the fully emerged cicada.

See my re-crop in response to Kieu-Hanh's comment. Thanks for the suggestion.

3 Jan 26 Reply Kieu-Hanh, you and Joan both suggested I crop more on the left. That suggestion was also made in my camera club. So, here is the photo more centered and in a square format. I think it works better. Thanks for the suggestion. Jan 18th
3 Jan 26 Comment Joan, it's always fun to find a subject that is a bit different. Good for you to see this ceiling as a subject for a photograph. I like it very much, in particular the parallel lines. I might have cropped in a bit from the bottom left to make those two more prominent. But not sure that would make a big difference. Nice job. 3 Jan 26 Comment Mary Ann, this is a great shot. Given that I can't see much in the original but dark, you did an amazing job in post-processing. I like the trees on the right as they frame the Milky Way nicely. I don't know much about astro-photography but am both impressed and intrigued that it does not seem to require more technical equipment. Jan 18th
3 Jan 26 Comment Kieuh-Hanh, this is a very good composition, with an interesting perspective. Without the sign for the bar it would not be as interesting an image. Well done. Jan 18th

3 Jan 26 Comment Ruth, you have an impressive collection of moose photos. You did a nice job of bringing up more details on both moose. I like this very much, but also, as others, wondered if the crop was a bit too tight. Without doing any work on the moose, I wonder what you think of this crop? Jan 17th
3 Jan 26 Comment Great shot Robert. It is a terrific composition and the tree is the star. You did a really good job in post processing eliminating the other tree on the left and highlighting the island on the background. As others have suggested, I think cropping out the island on the right would help. I like the color version better because the green on the tree pops against the mostly blue background. Well done.
