52 Sep 25 Reply I didn't know what to do with the shoulder feathers. I will try to make that area sharper. We have a condor release site in Pinnacles NP, Humboldt county and some areas in southern CA. We camp in Pinnacles, the condors are so big and magnificent. I hope they survive. Sep 17th

52 Sep 25 Comment The green in the hummingbird and the green of the plant creates a lovely balance in the image. The catch light in the eye and the focus on its head is great. Underneath the bird's beak, near his neck, is a bit pixelated. I only see that when I enlarge the photo so it might just be me. This is a sweet image capturing the bird's wings in a perfect position. The bit of blur on the wings provides the viewer with a feeling of movement, which I like.
PS- I saw and photographed a Townsend's Solitaire last weekend. A first for me.

52 Sep 25 Comment I love your bear cubs, you caught a moment of concern expressed on their faces. Also, nice job toning down the highlights on the cubs. The cub on the left eye
seems a bit soft, you could consider sharpening it a bit or adding contrast to its eye (it also could just be my old computer screen). What happens if you lift the shadows a touch on the cub on the right lower half? The reflections in the water and background are all wonderful. This is a great nature image and story.

52 Sep 25 Comment Another strong and bold image. I appreciate how difficult it is to capture a moving moth during the heat of the day, well done. Great detail in the wings and body. The only comment I have echoes Mike's comment to darken the bright pink a bit. Sep 17th
52 Sep 25 Comment The detail on the head and abdomen of the dragonfly is so interesting. I like your crop in the image, very artistic. You could also move the dragonfly towards the right and add more space on the left if you wanted to feature the insect more (such cool markings on the insect). Either way, love the image. Sep 17th
52 Sep 25 Comment I enjoy this image, it looks like the turtles just crawled out of a bank and decided to sun themselves. Even if the pond dries up they can survive by digging into the mud so don't worry. You handled the image perfectly; focus, clarity, exposure, and subject placement are great. All I can add is to consider cropping up from the bottom so the turtles will not be in the exact center. It will also focus the eye on the reflections more. Sep 17th
52 Sep 25 Comment Usually I find the orange glow too hot, but in this case, I feel that you were perfect in balancing the subject with the sunlight beams. I really love this image. The dust glow behind the elephant's legs is perfect. All I can suggest is to turn the soil back to more brown tones rather than orange, and see what you think. For me, just follow the light with the orange tones on the ground is worth exploring. Sep 8th
