52 Jun 25 Reply Thank you Mike for your ideas to improve the image, this is a big help. I did end up with a magenta cast on the bears that I will fix. The bears were a dark chocolate brown as well as wet from swimming across the river. The quandary for me is should I alter the natural fur color to improve the image, or should it be more accurate? 52 Jun 25 Reply Thank you Sharon, I connected with the sow over the week I was able to observe her. She was all things strong and brave. Jun 23rd
52 Jun 25 Reply Thank you for your comments, cropping the bottom is a good idea. Jun 23rd
52 Jun 25 Comment Bravo! You have captured one of my favorite birds with its wings fully extended, all in perfect focus. We have Burrowing owls in our area too. They use ground squirrel burrows and like the hillsides where cattle keep the grass down. They are under a lot of pressure due to habitat loss and our large coyote population, we use to have large colonies. I like the way you lean into fine art photography versus observational nature shots (which is where I tend to land).

52 Jun 25 Comment Wow, the is gorgeous. Others have mentioned darkening the sky above the tree. You might consider removing the two tiny puffy clouds on the right too. For me the lavender, pink, green and yellow colors, all in a soft hue, make this a special image. You really brought out the graceful arch of the branches. Jun 18th
52 Jun 25 Comment I find the trail leading up the hillside interesting. I wonder if cropping the left side in will bring out the dirt trail more. A crop in on the left may diminish the white sky on the far left too. I like this image, I keep staring at it wondering where that trail leads. Jun 18th
52 Jun 25 Comment I enjoy those wild orange eyes of the juveniles. You really captured a moment of excitement. The fish eye facing the viewer is amazing (and a little creepy, in a good way). The adult has traces of blood on its forehead so he/she probably ate her fill first. What a great nature story. Jun 18th
52 Jun 25 Comment Wonderful image, do you know the species? The bit of fecal matters in front of the chick being fed should be blurred or removed. My eye is drawn to the mosaic of lichens on the nest. You could feature the nest or feature the chicks by softening the lichen the nest a touch. This is a lovely image of challenging subjects. 52 Jun 25 Comment I think that this image is lovely and a good addition for your portfolio. What I like about it is the action and placement of the birds. I find the different eye colors very interesting, I don't often see it so clearly. Is this breeding versus non breed? You might consider decreasing the light on the upper left corner. I use a background (inverse objects) mask in LR and decrease the exposure. Mike's suggestions are better still. You handled the always difficult whites well. Jun 18th
