Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
52 May 25 Comment Wonderful silhouette with both adults, graceful neck curvature, and out stretched wings of the male. The background is dramatic as you have it, I also like the softer peach tone background of the original. Another excellent image. May 21st
52 May 25 Comment You captured the fish-dinner being served up to the chicks right at the exact moment. You could consider taking the adult leg out completely or leaving in the bird's body. You have options. Love those chicks. May 21st
52 May 25 Comment Judith, you alway see the unique things in nature. My eye is drawn to the green y stem. In the original image there is the entire stem and a couple of leaves on the left side. What would it look like to just concentrate on the left side of the image and crop out the flower on the right? You have many options. May 19th
52 May 25 Comment The red legs and beak are really fun. I agree with the others that you could consider cropping the right side a touch, maybe up to the white line on the center rock and a bit off the top. I like seeing the environment in the image. Darkening the wave foam on the top might make the bird stand out a bit more. May 19th
52 May 25 Comment Nice image Pamela!! And it was very sporting of the cranes to be separated so nicely. I have been dinged for wing feathers slightly overlapping with other birds. I like the flight angle and space for the birds on the right. I agree with Sharon that the sky is vivid and a slight decrease in color would be actuate the cranes. May 19th
52 May 25 Comment Lucky you to see a Green Heron nest (they are such beautiful birds) and both in the nest with a egg! This is a great nature story. I hope the judges know how hard it is to get an open view of heron nests. My only suggestion is, if possible, sharpen up the eye of the bird in the back. If it can't be sharpened, would darkening a touch bring less attention? This is another wonderful image. May 19th
52 May 25 Reply Thanks Pamela, I will remove the bit of green leaves on the right. I tried cropping in tightly and ended up liking some of the branches framing the bird so opened up the crop. I appreciate the 'border patrol'! May 19th
52 May 25 Reply Hi Sharon, the title should be 'A curious European Goldfinch'. Spellcheck is creative sometime. The crop on the right-side was a challenge for me. I wish that I had taken a step to my left, but generally, I am happy just to capture the bird in focus. May 19th
52 May 25 Reply Hi Judith, I had trouble with the crop on the right side. I wanted the buds, but fewer branches. The bird really does have a bright red bulls-eye on its face, especially during breeding season. I brought up the saturation just a touch (3) for its chest colors. Thank you for your comments.
