Thank you Sharon, I am going to try everything you suggested. I usually only enter photos into nature competitions, but the members of group 52 are inspiring me to be more artistic. |

Thank you. I responded to Judith that I was in a lucky spot rather than sunrise or sunset. My other grebe photos taken that day did not have the benefit of the golden shade. |

This photo was taken about 9am in a shaded lake lagoon on a very hot day. I believe that shade from the golden hillsides and foliage provided the gold color. |

Just gorgeous, I like everything about your edited image. The angle of the butterfly's wings provides nice movement to the photograph and those little antenna are in the perfect position (so cute). The colors are complementary and the butterfly stand out against the green and fuchsia. The swallowtails out west are mostly yellow. Is that a black swallowtail? It is beautiful. |

I love a good nature shot and you captured one here. I appreciate how hard it is to get a bird, mid-bite on a wiggling fish no less, in focus. A lower eye-to-eye angle would be preferable but it is a great capture as is. I agree with Ann that the reflection is a nice addition to the image and you could consider more space on the left, the tail is close to the edge. |

Not often can one get so close to a bird-of-prey, very nice image. The wonderful hard yellow eye and black beak is a fierce combination. I agree with what others have said concerning the soft focus on the chest feathers. I would enjoy seeing a bit more of the bird's head. |

The detailed veining in the wings is well captured. I enjoy how you made this photograph artistic with the sepia tone. The textures in the plants is very interesting. A slightly different angle showing more of its head would be nice, but this is lovely as is. You might consider photographing dragonflies early in the morning when it is cool, they may sit still a bit longer. |

This is wonderful. I enjoy the steam from his mouth, the alert look in his eye, the open mouth, every whisker and the movement of his paws. Such a great capture. The placement and balance of the subject is perfect. The only minor comment I have is the small light flares on the upper left lead my eye to the left. |

To my eye, it looks like you photographed the cattails just above and behind a snow bank. The image is clean and simple. You might consider enhancing the texture of the foreground snow a touch. Just a thought, I like this very much as is. |
