well, that would have been a great occasion to meet in person, what a pity. It is organized by Paola Trevisan in Galleria De Marchi, Via Porta Nova 1/D from Nov 30 to Dec 11, 2024. The last years brochure can be found here: https://www.trevisan-international-art.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/booklet-LT2023-07.24-PSW-2.pdf

Thanks Mark and all for the helpful guidance - I reworked and will exhibit is part of a group of four in an exhibition in Bologna (Italy) in November, called "Little Treasures" where all exhibits (mainly paintings) are in 20x20cm square format. |

Hi Michael
Welcome to the group and thank you for sharing this beautiful picture.
I am not as technically sophisticated like other members of the group when it comes to editing. I did vertical plus 6 in LRC and felt it straightened well the towers.
I slightly lid up the lower part with a linear gradient because I liked the fence there.
Since having recently seen Koudelka's Israel series https://www.magnumphotos.com/theory-and-practice/koudelka-shooting-holy-land-israel-palestine-documentary-conflict/ I am fond of panoramas, which I felt nice here as well. What do you think?
Best regards, Adrian |

A beautiful image. I can only echo the comments of the others. I did vertical + 5 in LRC to make the post on the right parallel to the right border.

Hi Mark
A gorgeus picture.
Since I saw Koudelka's panoramic pictures of Israel https://www.magnumphotos.com/theory-and-practice/koudelka-shooting-holy-land-israel-palestine-documentary-conflict/ I felt in love with that format and gave it try on your picture.
What do you think?

Hi Emil
A very nice still life. I particularly liked the magic of the monochrome picture and would keep the low dynamic range of your version.
BTW a brilliant perspective - without looking at the color picture I wouldnt have recognized this as a sunflower. I admire how you could create an extraordinary of an ordinary and well-known topic.

Hi Mandy
A great picture - in particular under the difficult circumstances you mentioned. I reworked a bit by removing the commercial on the top and cropping it to the water ring that surrounds the women.

Hi Pete
I would not hesitate to call this an extraordinary picture: It beautifully conveys the mystique of 1001 nights and my mind immediately travelled to an oriental bazaar and three hundred years back in time.
Doing myself no studio photography, I admire the skills and patience of those who create such beautiful still lifes like this one.
Very well done!
best regards, Adrian

Thanks Emil, well spotted. I revisted the EXIF data and saw that it should have read "1/500 sec" - my old eyes have read that wrongly. Apologies. |

thank you Michael - I like your version a lot. I had an initial version that included the rooftop triangle on the bottom right, but rejected for unknown reasons. You encourage me to revisit :-)
PS: No reason to get impressed by a Hasselblad. I had bought a used CM 500 on ebay decades ago and used it many years with film before I bought the Digital back to it, which then suck me into the Digital World of Hasselblad. The price is stiff, but the user interface well suited to me who tends to get lost in the submenus of Nikon and the like. |

thank you Pete - I get your point and in my animal pictures normally seek to have the eyes of the animal. The idea of this one was different and I tried to make a more abstract picture and display the similarity of the shape of the seagull with the shape of the palm tree. |
