Hello Lance -
Thank you. A friend I sent it to replied that the image has a haunting quality. I'm hoping that means it does tell a story; in this case, abandonment and isolation, which is what I was after. Stories are, of course, in the eye of the beholder. Thank you, also, for the comment on not over-processing the sky. I'm guilty of that. It's welcome advice I'll keep in mind going forward. |

An real eye grabber, with such intense colors against a black background. I like what I'm assuming are interpretations of simplified lotus flowers in the foreground. The tilted angle against the vertical pagoda adds a lot of interest. Beautiful. |

Simply gorgeous. Some dark halos around some of the petals. I've had that happen, and I still don't do a good job of removing them. They're subtle and certainly don't take away from a beautiful image. I especially like the gray background: white or ivory would have, in my opinion, been too startling for the soft colors of the orchid. |

A nice image that tells a story of cooperation for the greater good. I'm wondering if using a Lightroom diagonal linear gradient running from the upper right and lightening the sky a bit might even out the intense blue to the benefit of the overall image. Also, I haven't tried it, but I understand DxO has software to correct geometric distortion, such as the tilt of the flagpoles toward the center. I believe it's called ViewPoint, and it has a free trial period. |

Very nice still life -- elegant simplicity with just shades of cobalt. I'm wondering if changing the Kelvin ever so slightly might warm the grays just a tinge, and whether that would help or hurt the lovely image. (I'm not sure, as I'm a novice at this.) |

There's quite a bit going on in this image even though, at first glance, it's simple. Good catchlight. I especially like that the plumage is tack-sharp and edgy, while the water has a number of soft textures and patterns. Good texture contrast. I'm wondering what lightening the water just a bit might do to create further color contrast with the duck, as its plumage is dark? |
