Jim,
Great technique and creative use of our cameras and brains as a computer to achieve the desired results. The colors are arresting and emote a warm feeling. Another arrow in our quiver, if we choose to take it out and shoot it. |

Hi Yvonne,
What a great exhibition to have visited. You've given your nephew a great experience.
As far as the photography, you have positioned your camera in an opportune angle to capture the interesting and varied textures.
While your nephew is the subject, he adds additional contrast to your image.
As a option, I also like Sabine's color edit for more precise emotion of the image. Great show-worthy image. |

Doug,
You're fortunate to have set up a Hummingbird feeder in your own back yard! The species is fond of sugar water as well as other treats. They are very aggressive toward their compatriots, while feeding. The hummingbirds are fun to watch. This shot's composition is well-timed and the exposure is tack sharp. The inclusion of the snowfall adds to the activity. Feather detail is perfect. |

Sarita,
Your exposure of the Cedar Waxwing is exquisite. I applaud you on the wider crop to include the Juniper tree, which is an important part of the subject. Perhaps the top flora over the bird could be removed, but does not detract from this excellent image. |

Doc,
Your capture of the this Egret attempting to digest this huge frog is unusual and commands attention. In the past I shot a Heron regurgitate a much smaller tadpole. These creatures are amazing. I was amazed at how many Egrets populate and prefer the rice fields in Japan. The shallow depth of field was key to an superior image. |

Gerhard,
An excellent image of the Yellow-billed Stork. The composition and timing was perfect. Your colors need no editing and the activity in the water accentuates the action of the capture of the fish. I shot a perched Yellow-billed Stork in Gaborone, Botswana that pales in comparison. Great moment. |

Jim,
You have a noise-free and tack sharp image of this songbird. I love the flora that was included in the frame to support the bird. Great detail and bokeh. I will endeavor in my future compositions to include more flora especially for perched birds. Due to the strong position of the sunlight, it would not be natural to illuminate the shadow of the back leg. |

You are right about humans having little need for thistle, especially in landscapes.
However, there is a great strong story displayed by the feeding Goldfinch. Tack sharp photo.
It would greatly enhance the composition of the image if there was a little less of a crop. That would feature more of the entire body of the Goldfinch, which is the subject. |

Veysi,
Award-winning photograph! I love the way that the action of the surf shows the dynamic nature of the moment. As a bonus, the captured fish gives one last look at freedom. Great slice of life. |

Mike,
I've never seen a Greylag let alone photographed one. They have a similar body shape as the Geese around here. I love their takeoffs and landings in unison. Great in-flight capture with the ideal shutter speed. |

Tom,
This is a magnificent capture of this Great White Heron! The Everglades has rich biodiversity. It also has predators, so be very careful where you step. The image is show-worthy. |
