Doug,
A magnificent capture. God bless you for your patience and strong arm. The result was well worth it. Glad you didn't give up on the bird-in-flight prize. |

Michael,
You have captured an excellent specimen of an Andean Condor. This raptor has a 10 ft. wing span and weighs about 30 lbs. which makes it the largest bird of prey. Several South American countries claim it as their national bird.
Unfortunately, this bird is vulnerable due to lead poisoning from hunters bullets found in carcasses and loss of habitat.
The framing of the grass behind the Condor accentuates the sharp contrast between the shadows and highlights in the feathers. |

Very nice photo, Leslie. Especially from a kayak. Even though it hasn't reached twelve months yet, it still looks like a seasoned hunter. |

Mike,
Its always an accomplishment to capture any bird in flight. The Cormorants usually appear seemingly out of nowhere. Your choice in shutter speed accurately froze the bird showing remarkable detail of the feathers, including the underwing coverts and axillaries. |

Jim,
I love the dreamy background framing the Waxwings. A very thoughtful composition showing the majesty of the male and the affectionate submissiveness of the female. Everything is sharp. |

Tom,
I love this species and appreciate your very sharp depth of field on this bird. The colors are distinctive on the pure black body. The swirl of the water adds to the action. |
