Yes, Japanese culture is fascinating and beautiful. I have a trip planned for Japan soon and will be inspired to memorialize the cultural gemstones in this country through photography.
I like the symmetry you've captured in this image along with the majestic trees framing the steps and leading lines to the second shrine. |

Hi Yvonne,
I grew up in the Catholic Church while in grammar school. I notice the confessional in the darkened background. Your vantage point is most interesting as if you're in the balcony overlooking the conversation. Great capture

Thank You, Tom! Your professionalism and skill is welcomed and appreciated. My plan is to attempt to submit more interesting bird images in the coming months. This is a great Digital Dialogue Group. |

Marilyn, this is a great close-up shot of what I believe is an award-winning image. The Cormorant and Anhinga are excellent swimmers and fishermen. Because of the coloring, it may be a juvenile. The eyes are locked onto your presence and seems ready for flight. Nice job. |

Hi Don,
Yes, the Mallards probably flew overhead and found a cool resting place before traveling on. This pair seem content. I'd crop the North and West portions of the image. |

Hi Mike,
It's always great to catch any birds-in-flight. I think the rule of thirds enhances this image and the bokeh frames it perfectly. The reflection in the water is nice, too. |

Jim,
It's nice to capture the smaller aviary species like the Yellow Warbler. They are harder to find and shoot but provide satisfaction when they appear. |

You've shot another winning photo image, Tom. It's hard enough getting maximum detail in the feathers during the daytime. The full extension of the wings of the Egret makes the image pop. |

Nice capture of the catch lights in the Black bird's eyes. Seems like he's doing a peek-a-boo. |

Thanks, Leslie
Those are some good suggestions, Leslie, especially about the highlights and contrast. Since I only have around 20 pixels I tend not to crop too much. I liked the framing of the tamarix too. |
