5 May 25 Comment Richard,

The scene is exciting because of the concentration of the combatants. One slip of the swords can result in injury. The removal of the distractions were well done. The reverse angle would be nice to focus on the adult actor.

5 May 25 Comment Sophia,

The Air Shows are a challenge to capture the right moment for the photo. You couldn't get much better than what you captured. These are dangerous maneuvers for the pilots coming within meters at sonic speeds. I prefer Mark's 90 degree flip, as well.

5 May 25 Comment Mark,

The rodeo is an excellent canvas to show the determination of the animal and rider. The definition of the muscles in the horse and the disturbance of the turf shows the motion and speed.

5 May 25 Comment Oliver,

The mood of this image is enhanced by the sunset and flora. I like the leading lines of the road and the telephone lines. Not sure if the approaching vehicle adds to the scene.

5 May 25 Comment Xiao,

The vertical composition of the Titmouse while extending its wings is very beautiful. The color saturation and sharpness is spot on, as well. The crop is very nice due to the branch blending with the bird.

Your image exhibits the silent emotion of the model. I admire the attitude of him not aware of the camera, but looking down in deep thought.

21 May 25 Comment Hi Marilyn,

Thanks for the comments. Yeah, I agree with you on the benefits of continuous shooting mode. I've done it, but don't like culling a thousand images. It has it's pros and cons.

Mostly, I shoot single shot servo. I don't do ma ny continuous shooting mode. Perhaps, I should.

You're absolutely right. I need more time to learn my best practices post processing decisions. Less is more

21 May 25 Comment Hi Don,

This image tells the story of the Anhinga. The Double-Crested Cormorant is a close cousin. They both have webbed feet and are excellent swimmers. They hunt their prey while under the water and spear their catch with aplomb. The shot you took is perfect in sharpness and the action of the ripple in the water places the viewer right into the scene.

21 May 25 Comment Thanks, Jim

I believe that I overworked the image in post processing. I'm trying to learn better methods in the ON1 Raw editor. Less is more sometimes, right?

21 May 25 Comment Leslie,

Thank you for your constructive observations. The aperture at f/9 and the low light contributed to the pixelated image. I should have reduced the shutter speed a bit.

21 May 25 Comment Hi Marilyn,

I have a keen interest in the Raptor species. I love this portrait of the Red Shouldered Hawk. The image is super sharp and the birds attention is so intense. The lighting is favorable for the shot.
I'm scheduled to visit Wings and Talons, a conservatory, in a couple of weeks. Thanks for sharing

Your safari travels are very thorough and informative. It's a lot of information that I will have to revisit and review before my wife and I arrive in country.

21 May 25 Comment Leslie,

As a matter of fact, I will be visiting Botswana in June/July. This Shrike image is crisp and the color pleasing. I love the head positioned high and catch light in the eye.

Great background highlighting the Mallard's flight. This definitely is competition worthy. Very sharp likeness

21 May 25 Comment Tom,

The Roseate Spoonbills resting seems symmetrical in shape and color. The catch light in both eyes show an alertness in their surroundings. Nice image

21 May 25 Comment Jim,

Great reflections of the Mallard and ducklings. The enhanced color of the water frames the image and highlights the sharpness.
