Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
9 Oct 24 Comment Hi Yvonne,

This is a nostalgic photo and capture of the regimen of the Catholic Church. I grew up Catholic and the Nuns were very instructive.
This photo highlights the techniques of 'Frame within a Frame' and 'Fill the Frame' perfectly. The Curves slider softens the monochrome where it is needed. The Sentinel and Cross at the top of the photo are ever watchful and pleasing.

15 Oct 24 Comment Hi Kathy,
Your image of the Red-Shouldered Hawk is outstanding. The only Raptor that I've been able to capture so far has been two Owls. I aspire to search and find some Ospreys, Hawks and Eagles soon. Thanks for the photo.

15 Oct 24 Comment Sarita,
The hummingbirds are magnificent and very difficult to shoot. I visited a hummingbird nature area in Jamaica and got only a few worthwhile shots because my auto ISO maxed out and created noise.
On this image I would have upped my shutter speed to 1/3200 to fully freeze the wings. However, I like the blur just as much. Great composition

A very insightful shot at a critical moment. The eye tracking was spot on and tack sharp. I appreciate the eye-level attitude as well. The bokeh helps the subject to pop.

15 Oct 24 Comment Hi Jerry,
Love the image of the Snowy Egret. These species are very patient while on the hunt.
I wonder if the shutter speed had been reduced significantly if it would given even a little more detail on the feathers. Also, maybe bring down the highlights a little more in post.

Such a rare and beautiful moment captured of this majestic bird species. Mother and chick is a precious story to convey. The three foot bird really does fill the frame. The chick seems very content.

This is a very sharp image and subject. It is unique in the Raillidae family having the coloration of violet, yellow, red, green, blue, aquamarine and indigo. The long-toes and legs are very striking and useful for foraging in dense vegetation. Thanks for the experience. I like the reflection too. I would have liked to see more of it.

I love the diversity of the Herons. Both large and small. Great image with the Green Heron framed perfectly with the flora. They are patient and expert fishermen.

46 Oct 24 Comment Great photograph, Maria
The Robins in Chicago typically have only the breast red. A beautiful capture with the frame being filled at 448 mm.

"Ultimately, robins, a sign from Heaven, encourage us to move forward with determination and grace". A new beginning
