Thanks for your uplifting comments Frans.
You can see Alantic Puffins in areas of the east coast but I don't have that information.
Alaska is a great place for viewing puffins. I don't know of any place to view them without getting out on a boat.
Weather conditions are super important as dark clouds and waves will not work. A light wind gives you and idea of which direction the birds will fly if they are on the water.
I would encourage you to look into photographing puffins they are beautiful and fun to photograph.

Thanks for your comment, Minette. As you can see there was a bit of chop on the water. I feel fortunate to have captured this image from the boat. I think having located a puffin and focusing on it in anticipation of its flight helped lock the focus. Many thanks! |

Ginny, what a lovely shot of a beautiful bird. I agree with Dan, a little shadow lightening on the bird's face would be nice. Super capture and nice composition. |
