Thanks for your comments, Frans. I am happier with the original crop and composition as well. I will have to look at the blurred-out background that you mentioned, the water ripples. I don't know if I blur out the background, but I will look into it. I have been traveling and my hard drive with images is not attached to my computer at this moment. Thanks again for your input. |

I have made some time to rework my image with the cropping suggestions made by LC. I'm not sure which I like better but it will be fun to hear your comments. Thanks for the opportunity. |

Dan, you captured a beautiful moment. I would have loved to have seen the legs of the birds but maybe something was distracting in the background. If you wanted to simplify the shot and show the heads of the birds I would have gone tighter with the composition. This may not have been possible in the field but may be in post. I think it is a wonderful image without changing a thing. I mentioned the above as if I were asking myself if this was my shot what would I try? |

Frans, I like both images and prefer the original. I like the details of the wings and the eyes of the dragonfly in the original image. It is fun to see you are experimenting. There is no wrong answer here. They are both lovely images. I look forward to seeing more of your work. |

Ginny, what a sweet image of a lovely and colorful bird. I would consider doing a crop as LC had suggested. It would be interesting to see how that would change the photo. The lighting was great, with no harsh shadows which would have taken away from this wonderful shot. |
