I enjoy your background story of this picture! The blur of the train racing by is really cool. I'd love to see closeups of these buildings - Their textures and patterns look interesting. Perhaps by shooting with a long lens from this location or just walking up to them. I bet this image would look interesting as a night shot too - unless that part of the neighborhood is risky. Cheers! |

Hi Karen! I enjoy the lighting that you set up for this picture. The grapes look translucent even! I'm not a fan of the fabric, but you are and that's what matters of course. I feel that the weights on the lower right could use a bit more light. I admire you proficiency with lighting - that's something I'll try my hand at this winter. Cheers! |

Hi Piers! I think you exposed this well in a really difficult lighting situation. Just an idea (take it or leave it) - I'd love to see a closeup of the water and the bricks. The algae make it interesting. I like the idea of using an ND filter as well, to make the flow prettier. Cheers! |

Hi! I adore the shape and colour of the fern. It's gorgeous. If I may suggest, consider bringing a dark cardboard to act as a background next time you head out. I enjoy the lighting as well! |

Thanks Karen. I got the idea to look up more from a YouTube channel called The Photographic Eye. He sometimes shows his own images and they kind of inspired me to start looking up as well. Cheers! |

Thanks! Once you start looking up, there are quite a lot of opportunities. I've started to look for the giant steel structures that hold up the power lines. |

Thank you Piers. It's great that you noticed the gradation of the sky - I totally missed that. I'll go back and apply a graduated exposure adjustment to the picture. Pretty sure that the problem was the polarizing filter - I used it to reduce the glare, but it can do funny things to the sky. Cheers! |
