What a wonderful artistic rendition. All the complex elements work together. I contrast it to the egret where simplifying was the key to making it work. No suggestions. none needed. I do wonder which bridge it is? I know there are a couple over the East River, north of the Brooklyn Bridge. I grew up learning and appreciaitng composition from my dad, a structural engineer who loved to build bridges, especially suspension bridges. |

As for your egret? I love the composition with the black background concealing the forest. And the dead tree trunk going off toward infinity is a wonderful composition element.Truly artistic as well as, as far as I can tell, biologically excellent. Great job! |

I learned so much from 20 years in camera club competition and judges' comments. . I never took a course but judged a few times. And received kudos too. Except for one disappointed entrant who noted his photo had won something in another club. I was able to point out a compositional flaw that was the main reason I downgraded it.

o.k. I'm in the minority here. I see no organization or composition to the photo. Just a bunch of chains hanging from something with stuff hanging on. Sepia light seems monotonous, Sorry to be a grouch! Interesting texture to the glass!

Wonderful! I would make no changes. The white water for the 2 middlet boys does not appear to emanate from their buckets and so are a bit distracting. Where id they come from? The spill way? But that is nit picking. Another incidental that does work is the symmetry in swim trunks--middle two are blue while outer two are red. Their poses are similar too with middle two bowing more in dance steps facing camera while the outer two in profile! |

I had suggested turning the image to b& w but did not actually try it. As I forecast, loss of the sparkling blue vest? yoke? removes a key part of the beauty of the color image. And in you version we are back to the appearance of 2 heads--instead of one on the right bowing and on the left the neck and mane with dark spots resembling features of a separate head--mouth, eye, etc. A I look at it the image in my eyes jumps back & forth between clearly 2 heads and one head with flowing mane--almost an optical illusion! |

this is more what I had in mind than what I actually produced and posted, Your background is much darker so that the horse really stands out. |

I too think the water pattern is great but do not think the radial pattern improves the aesthetic qualities. I do wonder how it would be to convert to b&w. The water is almost monochrome now. Converting the bird would emphasize the similarity of the feather shapes to complement the ed splash shapes. That really would be an abstract! |
