Did removing the bisecting mast from a sailboat improve the image significantly? |

Ricarda, thank you for your input. I will do some PS or LR work to move or remove the speedboat.

Howard, I appreciate your input. I too, struggled with the naked sky which I added in PS. After considering Meredith's comments, in the end, I think the added top branches looked too fake and I used the version without them on the showcase even before I saw Meredith's comment. Regarding the speedboat, I could remove it but then, it makes the row of boats look too sterile. I might just be too lazy to remove it and justified my rationale. I do appreciate all the input I received. |

Delian, blue hour refers to the period of time when the setting sun is low on the hoirizon or might even be below the horizon. Photographers love this time to shoot pictures because of it's unique quality of light coming from almost soft diffused light source. During the sunrise, the same conditions are present, and it is called the golden hours. But these terms are sometimes interchangeable. At least, this is my understanding of the term Blue Hour and Golden Hour. |

The very colorful blue color is strongly supported by the bright orange (exactly across the color wheel). My eyes are drawn to it immediately, then I explore what is the bird looking at and opening it's bill. The beautiful gentle soft green and red background reveals nothing and bring the viewer's eyes back to the bird's blue feather once again. I would display this alluring image in my home if I had captured this wonderful image. |

Howard, I like this abstract. It is like an evolving story, as I enter my view from the left to right, I am enjoying the repetitive rhythm of the same shape L to R, but as I scan up the shapes evolve from squares to rectangles. The same pattern of shifting shapes follows as my eyes scans to the R of the image, culminating in the dark wall on the right. It is a story in itself. Thank you for sharing your creative sense with us. |
