I am always fascinated by close-up pictures of flowers and find it incredibly difficult to achieve the results I am trying to imagine. I always feel that the character and direction of light plays a huge part in the picture. I cannot, for the life of me figure out where the light is coming from here? It looks like a noon shot and the light just does not work for this shot. A deep vignette and some clever manipulation in LR or PS should bring out the flower nicely. |

I am not an iPhone expert (I don't have one!) but using the portrait mode might help put the offending areas out of focus. |

I think the crop is really good and works well for this shot. I would decrease the exposure on its face/snout just a tad and add some contrast and saturation. I think it will help bring out the colors better. I also second what everyone said about that bright area on the top right. |

the macro shot with focus stacking is working well. There is a blush of green on the top right of the frame which should be cropped out. If the bright edge of the leaf is distracting, I would probably use a brush and bring down the exposure or apply a vignette to include that area or do both.
And darkening the area just behind its head with a little more contrast will help bring the head and eyes to the viewer's attention. |

Excellent composition and exposure. Love it. I have nothing to add. |

I love the shot. The monochromatic treatment with the eyes in color draws your attention to the eyes. I wonder if darkening the picture overall by a stop or so and the background by a little more would bring out the facial features on the gorilla better. Just a thought!! |
