Very nice close-up of a flower. Everything looks sharp and the black background enhances the main subject. I especially like the purple tones radiating from the center. The drops on the petals are a bonus. |

Although, to me, the photo doesn't say "the lives of a tulip;" I find that you produced a lovely image. Everything works well in this subtle composition. Looking carefully, I see that the right petals are older than the left one, but not too much and they complement it. Your work with the background was flawless. I've never done something like that, but it's a very interesting idea. |

Nice capture of a scene during your trip. The flag and the houses on the canvas tell where the photo was taken. Even if you shot him from behind, his face is recognizable and shows concentration on the work. Good that you bought a paint from him! |

I've never tried IR, but it produces very interesting results. The problem I have with this image is that it looks too busy to me. I have difficulty separating the trees from the water (which is reflecting the trees). My guess is that this is an issue with the lower resolution of the files we need to submit for critique. Printed on a large canvas may produce an amazing picture. |

I like the composition a lot, with two strong geometric elements replicating each other and producing scale and depth of field. I have two suggestions. First, to correct the distorted perspective in the buildings on the right (just the buildings, not the arches). Second, to clone out the person on the bridge below the second arch. Not so sure about the red buoy, which might also be erased. |

Not too bad? I find it an understatement. I'm amazed how sharp the final photo looks despite the heavy cropping. The composition is excellent and the two butterflies produce a very balanced image. The background (after your post-processing) complements the main subject and is not distracting. I might, however, darken a little more the stem in the background growing diagonally from the right butterfly. |
