After reading your explanation, I did see the "pregnant" woman in the shadow. I like the idea and how you carried it out. At least in my monitor, the flowers are too bright, so I would darken them a little. I'm not so sure about your shadow being part of the image. It adds something, but it also competes with the main subject. An alternative would be to crop from the left and keep only the tree and its shadow. |

The ethereal background looks like an impressionist abstract painting. Against it, the main subject stands out prominently, especially the white chapel. I like the muted earth tones of the whole image, accentuated by the white building. I wouldn't change anything. |

It's the first time I've seen a combined vertical and horizontal blurring, and it works very well, at least in this image. The strong colors help the viewer know what the subject is. The addition of the sharp person gives some sense of reality. The only problem I found was that the right balloon is cut at the edge (it was in the original image, too). It should not be so difficult to add some space there and clone some elements to have a full subject. You can also add some extra space on the left. |

I like the scene that you captured, and how you "posed" the drummers, diagonally from the bottom right. I also like the smiles on their faces. Converting to B&W was a good idea, since it helps the viewer concentrate on the action. I would have preferred to see a little more movement in the sticks, making the image more dynamic. Maybe 1/30 or 1/15 of a second would have achieved that without affecting the sharpness of the drummers. Any chance to add movement in post-processing? |

The picture definitely tells an interesting story. At first, I had doubts about the backlighting, but the more I looked into the photo, the more I liked it. However, I would open up the face of the woman a little more, if possible. Getting everything right in such a situation is very difficult, and you have half a child coming into the picture from the left, plus a hand and a knee showing on the right. You can simply clone them out. The boy with the yellow t-shirt behind the woman is also a little distracting, but it might be not so easy to eliminate him. |

It's incredible how much you improved the original photo through post-processing. The composition is very interesting, but without the warm colors in the clouds and water, it would have been a below average image. I tend to like Kirsti's suggestion to crop from the bottom, to get a more panoramic format. But I also like the clouds' reflections running towards the bottom right. Maybe you want to try to increase the exposure of the islands in the middle a little. |
