26 Jun 24 Comment They tell you not to put the main subject in the middle of the frame, but rules are meant to be broken! And this is a perfect example, for the bird as well as for the big cloud. I wouldn't change the composition even by a millimeter. I see a connection between the bird and the big cloud through the rising clouds in the background. In terms of post-processing, I defer to Bob. However, I looked at the original and didn't see anything that cannot be improved through standard enhancement tools (clarity, vibrance) and extra sharpening of the bird, but maybe some flaws are hidden in the low-resolution image. 26 Jun 24 Comment You captured the birds at the right moment and got a very dynamic image. The calm waters act as a mirror reflecting the penguins. The red beaks bring a nice contrast to the blacks and whites. As others had said, you can improve the composition cropping from the right and getting rid of the distracting splash. Jun 8th
26 Jun 24 Comment I love to take close-ups of hands, and this is an image I wish I had taken! I don't see anything here that needs to be improved. The composition is spot-on and tells the story. I like that I can see the wet spots on the clay while it's being shaped, and on the fingers of the artisan. I can also see the wheel moving. It's amazing the absence of noise in a photo taken at ISO 12,800. Jun 8th
26 Jun 24 Comment The story of the picture is very clear, and where it was taken just reading one balloon. The lady smiling and with the bill in her hand hints at a recent sale. The composition is interesting, with a lot of color and the balloons overpowering the right side of the image, and in a way also the woman. The two customers are needed to complement the story, so I would be very careful when trying to get rid of the distracting cars and the man behind them. Beyond cropping, you can darken them, or try to clone at least the person in blue. Jun 8th
26 Jun 24 Comment I am not in drone photography, so this is an image beyond my reach. But I have to admit that it offers you unusual viewpoints. I agree with you that the cows provide a balance to the abbey ruins. I like the curved river flowing from the center right of the picture, with a nice reflection of the sky and clouds. For the parking lot, you can clone it completely and replace it with grass, or you can keep it and get rid of the cars (the red one is too distracting). My only observation is that maybe the wide angle distorts the building too much. Any chance to correct the perspective? Jun 8th
26 Jun 24 Reply Thanks for your comment! I checked the original TIF and it does have texture and detail, which was lost in the lower-resolution JPEG. Jun 6th
