You managed to get a perfectly lit photo (although Bob thinks it's still a little too dark) out of an underexposed original. I like the composition, with the bird taking flight and placed according to the rule of thirds. Beyond Bob's suggestion to darken the stem, I find the feathers a little oversharpened. |

The posted photo is not a cropping of the "original," but of a much closer up shot. I showed the "original" so members have an idea how the moving sculpture looks like. |

First of all, congratulations on your beautiful granddaughter! Going back to the picture: everything works well. You perfectly captured her engagement with whatever she was looking at (the Paw Patrol). Her eyes are very sharp and with some catch light on them. All the other elements contribute to the story, I don't find anything superfluous. I agree that the B&W version is more appealing. My only suggestion is to clone out the dots on the couch: they were there and are out of focus, but still get some attention from the viewer. Since you plan to present it for an exhibit (not a competition), I don't think that you will have problems with the photo fitting with the theme. |

What I like most here is that the airplane at the top is breaking from the formation. It provides more dynamic to an already dynamic picture. Even the clouds at the bottom contribute to the general image. It is good that you left plenty of space on the left and at the top for the planes to fly. I wouldn't change anything. |

A very good portrait, with a pleasant composition. It looks as if she was posing for you. Sharp eyes with some catch light. Nice rim around her hat. Good decision to convert to B&W. I don't know if it was heavily cropped, but you can try to smooth the skin of her face a little. |

Symmetry was the first thought that came to mind when I saw the image. Surely not easy to achieve with a moving object. The lighting is right on the money, with the whites not being over- or underexposed. Good contrast with the blue of the water. I don't see anything to improve this photo, except to clone out the white circle on the top left. |

You made lemonade out of lemons. I like the composition a lot, particularly the foreground curve made by the boat's trail. The horizon is almost in the middle of the picture, but it works well here, since there are basically three rectangles: the water, the mountains, and the clouds. The dark clouds above the mountains are very powerful. Good decision to convert to B&W. My only comment is the glare around the trees on the left hill. I don't see it in the color original, so it must be a side effect of your post-processing (sharpening?). |
