Welcome to the group Agnes, and many thanks for your useful comments! I went once (November 2014) to Mount Bromo. The sunrise was spectacular, and more than worth the 1 a.m. wake up call at the hotel. I like the idea and composition of your photo but, somehow, I keep looking at a picture cut in two in one 1/3 light and one 2/3 dark areas. You may try to open up the lower part, so there are more details, especially the curve leading to the rider, who is not so easy to spot. Also, increase contrast a little. These adjustments should be enough to get a wonderful photo. |

The composition is very interesting, with the highlight of the waterfall as a focal point. However, I prefer the original, where I can see more details and a much more interesting sky (the processed sky looks unnatural). I would simply enhance the colors of the original and crop a little from the top to eliminate the bright spot. |

This reminded me of the photo of Dolly Sods I posted for the October round. However, here you got many more layers, all very well defined and with a lovely sky. You achieved a good balance with the trees on the left and right, bound by a line of trees in between. I don't find anything to change. |

My first thought when I saw your photo is how you managed to get the guy to walk on the dunes. Without him it is an excellent photo; with him you went several notches higher. The forms and the texture of the dunes, as well as the contrast of light areas and shadows, are superb. You got also the exact amount of sky (even with clouds). Conversion to B&W was a plus. |

There is not much that I can add, since everything works for me in this photo. You have the two fences leading the view to the red barn. The HDR processing looks very natural, with all the tones well rendered. I particularly like the sunrays coming from the top, as well as the shadows on the road. Maybe Melinda is right and you can consider eliminating the sign (or is it a window?). |
