I'm not particularly fond of creative filters, but in this case they worked. You managed to get the right amount of them, and I still see some natural rendition of the leaves. I wouldn't change anything regarding composition, but as others have suggested I would darken some of the leaves to avoid distractions from the main element.

I like the S-curve achieved with the flowers, which brings my eyes to the bench. Like Mervyn and Bob, I also prefer the color original; or much more contrast in the B&W version. Cropping from the top you can get rid of the house and leave only two elements: the flowers and the bench; which would make for a stronger composition. I would also clone out the bunch of flowers to the left of the bench and close to the bush. |

Definitely, the B&W conversion brings the original to a higher level. It is an excellent photo that tells a story and, somehow, as soon as I saw it, I thought of Soweto. The two people are perfectly placed in the frame and you got a very good contrast in the B&W photo. No need to change anything. |

I wouldn't say that the face of the boy is "reasonably sharp," it is tack sharp! You captured the action very well, and the panning makes it a dynamic shot. Nothing needs to be improved in terms of composition or exposure. The one thing I noticed is a halo below his head and around his shoulder, maybe too much sharpening? With some extra work you can get rid of it. |

I'm surprised at how clean and crisp the copy of the slide is; I don't get such good results when scanning. I like the picture a lot, in particular the color contrast between the balloons and the background, and the reflections on the water. I prefer to have the house dark, as it is, rather than competing with the main subjects. I wish the second balloon would be in the air, but this is too much to ask. |
