I find the composition very interesting, with the flowers in the foreground leading to the house in the background. The focus stacking allowed for sharp rendition of the flowers and the house. Although initially not noticeable, the out of focus grass in between looks unnatural at a second glance. If foreground and background are sharp, the viewer expects the middle ground to be also sharp. Removing some distracting elements (as suggested by Belinda) will help improve the photo. |

I don't see any problem with the image stabilization issue. The image looks very sharp to me. In terms of composition, perhaps having the full "R" in the frame could improve the picture, but I can live with just a hint of it (maybe, in a tough competition this could be an excuse for an "out"). For the rest, I like the lights on the buildings, in two different hues. As you said, the moving lights of other cars make the parked vehicle look as if it were moving, too. Not so impressed by the Star Wars figures: nothing against them, but I find the rest of the picture very interesting per se. |

I live in Maryland, and I walked the street. However, I didn't have the eye to find such an interest subject as you did. The post-processing really enhanced the original. It's just a matter of getting rid of the reflections on the pavement (they look like lens flare). I don't know what to say about the wires: they are distracting but removing them would leave the lamps hanging in the air. Maybe the wire at the top center can be removed and the lamp will still look attached to something else. I agree with Bob that you might try to clone out the small triangle on the top left (or just crop a little from the top). |
