Very powerful mix of colors and forms. It is interesting how the semi-circle of the hot springs is reproduced (inversely) by the clouds. This picture is about layers, and you got them all, including the sliver of white running above the mountains from the center to the right. It might be my computer, but I would brighten up a little the mountains, particularly the range on the left of the picture. |

This is a very nice emotional shot. The viewer can sense the relationship between your granddaughter and her dog. I agree with you that the flowers help frame the main subject. My question is whether you need her full legs in the picture. Being bright, they take away from the interaction between the girl and the dog. Have you tried cropping the picture until a little over her knees (and a little from the bottom)? Doing so will bring the full attention to her face and the dog's head. Another issue is the lack of separation between her jeans and the black coat of the dog: it is difficult to find where one ends and the other starts. Making the jeans brighter will help solve this problem. |

The B&W version is an improvement compared to the original color shot. Here, the attention is focused on the main element of the picture, namely the lyre fencing. However, I find that the picture has too much dark background (including the distracting bright area) that doesn't contribute to the image. I would heavily crop from the top and leave only the fence and its shadow. Also, I would darken the elements at the bottom, so they don't compete with the main subject. |

I like it a lot! It's impressionist, but clearly produced in-camera, since some elements are still very sharp. You got good color contrast between the blue shack and the orange part of the dock. Maybe you can improve the picture even more getting rid of some minor elements that might be distracting, but this is very subjective and it's your call.‒ |

The composition is very strong, with the stones making the viewer "climb" up to the top. The shapes of the stones are also very interesting (they remind me of the basalt columns found in Iceland). What I prefer from the original (color) version 2 is the sky, which I find more appealing than the B&W option. In the color version, I would open up a little the rocks, to bring more detail. Coming back to the B&W picture presented for comments: you say that you lowered texture and contrast, but I still find too much grain, in particular on the rocks at the bottom and the left part of the sea. |
