I like the composition with the two curves formed by the coast and the path. You were not satisfied with the original and tried something different. My concern is that it is too painterly to be a photo, but not enough to be appreciated as a painted (unreal) image. Also, the trees on the path are too dark. Perhaps you want to go to extremes and see if you can get an impressionistic image. The artifact on the water can be easily removed through cloning. |

Very nice picture, and nice idea to play with the cross and the moon. Here is my only critique to the picture. Either I would have fully centered the moon behind the cross, or I would have placed it to the left (my choice) or right of it. I agree with your choice of composition, showing only one side of the church front, it makes the image more interesting. Maybe you can try to increase exposure on the bottom of the picture and bring the tones closer to the upper part. |

The composition is very pleasing and the low-lying clouds bring the picture to a higher level. You got all the tones in B&W, which apparently is not the case in the color original. Beyond the good result you got in B&W, I wonder how the color version would look like if you manage to open up the trees at the bottom. For once, you would get a more interesting sky that goes from dark blue to orange. |

Someday I will have to try infrared. It lets you shoot at midday and the results are astonishing. Your picture is proof of that. All the problems you describe are not visible in the final image, so nothing to improve here. Composition is excellent, with the zigzag line leading the viewer to the church entrance. I would only repeat Guy's advice to recover the separation between the church and the right border; you can even add some additional space. |

This is a good picture to open a story about a trip to Virginia. In this sense, I would keep the sign within the "O." Not much to add, except that colors popped-up well in the final version, and that I like its more panoramic view, compared to the original. |
