When I opened the photo, I thought that it was a still life that you set up. I liked the composition and was going to praise you because of it. But that you found the image, and I assume had to take the picture on the run, increases the merits of this photo. I wouldn't change anything in terms of composition of colors, although I would lighten up the borders. |

I like the image with the row of red houses in the foreground and the mountains in the background. At least in my monitor, the colors don't look over-saturated, but you are a better judge based on the results of the print. I would perhaps darken the sky a little, so it doesn't look so bland. The zodiac crossing in front of the houses provides a dynamic element, complemented by the trail left on the water. |

This is a nice photo, but unfortunately it suffers from the time of the day it was taken, something I noticed even before reading your explanation. Add to that the harsh light normally available in the dessert, and then the image losses appeal. I don't know how much you can do pumping up the colors, darkening the sky and the mountains in the background. I agree with the others that through cropping you can eliminate some distracting elements. However, I wouldn't go so far as making the picture vertical, but simply take 15-20 percent from the bottom and the left and keep the original format. |

The approach you followed reminded me of one exercise advised by Freeman Patterson: throw a hoop and photograph the area where it lands. As in your case, one can get very exciting results. I definitely prefer the color version, where I can see much better the peeling paints. The contrast between the greens and the yellows, punctuated by some reds is the main attraction of the picture. But the well-defined geometric shapes contribute a lot to the final product. My only concern is the out-of-focus of the exterior areas, which is understandable due to the large aperture. You might have managed to use a smaller aperture and still get a decent shutter speed for hand-holding. But now it's too late. Try darkening the area so the out-of-focus is not so obvious. |

The patterns and the people sitting at the exact position make the picture, with the piano at the center drawing the interest of the viewer. It is interesting that almost anyone is dressed in muted colors, except the person in red on the left. The lady walking into the group brings some dynamic. My only recommendation would be to eliminate the triangle on the top right. For that, you would also need to clone the brighter area marking the limit of the circle, but no one will notice that you altered the circle. |

A very nice composition with the curves of the rails and the steps spiraling down and concentrating on the center of the picture. I like the B&W treatment, and agree with you that color palette was not exciting. The other advantage is that the noise you got (not surprising, at ISO 6400) has even some appeal in the B&W version, while it would be detracting in the color version. |
