The picture contains everything one expects from Norway: fjords, ships, bad weather, solitude. It is nice how you framed the harbor with the descending mountains in the background. Two suggestions: (i) try to get more light on the dark areas of the mountains on the left; (ii) eliminate the part of the house at the bottom, cloning some green vegetation instead of it. |

Very well captured mating dance! It's hard to believe the sharpness of the image after such a heavy cropping. I wouldn't touch anything in terms of composition (I tried to crop some from the bottom, but it doesn't work), nor in color saturation. The muted tones work perfectly here. What is also surprising is that you got the birds very close to each other, but still with some separation between them. Congratulations! |

I will comment on the straightened image, which is an improvement from the original. Everything works well for me here, especially the repetition of forms. It is interesting how the shadows on the floor produce a nice pattern that is different from but in a way complementary to the pattern of the columns. The curve flowing from the bottom left add a lot to the image. B&W is the right choice here. |

Welcome to the group Dave! Although I leave in the DC area, I never went to this location (I didn't even know that it existed). I will have to take a look at it. You got a really scary picture, which is what you wanted. I like the leading diagonal lines going up from the bottom and bringing the viewer to the two lights at the top. I wouldn't change anything in terms of composition, but I would try to get a little more detail at the bottom increasing brightness. |

I like how you managed to get so much texture and detail out of the original. I like the conversion to B&W and the general composition of the picture. I would add a little strip at the bottom, so the sole doesn't touch the frame. You struggled with the depth of field: another possibility would have been just to open up the diaphragm even more and get the second boot totally out of focus. Perhaps you can try it in PS. |

I prefer the original, color, version. I would even emphasize the colors even more to get an eerie effect, accentuating the geometrical forms of the picture. I find the composition in general adequate. However, after seeing the two options offered by Bob (crop from the top or eliminate through cloning the horizontal bar) I came with a third option: how about to crop from the top, but leaving an area above the bar of almost the same height? |

Dancing on the tables is not allowed, but it is on the benches. |
