A fascinating structure, which reminds more of the legs of an insect than of icicles. The blue colors are rich against the dark background. I tried a quick and dirty conversion to B&W and got a very striking image; you might want to play with that. You have cloned a lot of distracting elements, but I would go even farther and get rid of the white line at the top of the right icicle (going all the way to the frame), and also darken some white spots even more. |

This picture is about colors, with the sailboat as an anchor point to break the monotony. I don't see how you could improve the image, which also profit from the circular opening in the clouds letting a little blue break the orange tones. It is also good that you managed to produce three segments on the water: a sliver at the very bottom created by the breaking wave, a large patch in the middle, and a quiet lighter line where the boat is located. The texture and forms of the clouds are amazing. |

Different approaches: If I had a spider web over my front door, my first reaction would have been to get rid of it, instead of waiting for something interesting to happen! Well, you got your photo and I would have missed it. You not only captured an interesting action, but also a very interesting geometric pattern with the web. I think that the out of focus white spots on the right take away from the main subject. Instead of trying to darken them, I would crop heavily from the right and top, moving the main subject up and to the right. I would also try to increase the contrast on the spider. |

The picture tells a story, and a very compelling one. The interaction between the child and the woman is very striking. You see a lot of love here from both sides, even if she keeps working. I like that you showed only part of her, which is all I need to understand the photo. I find the touch of red among a lot of blue very interesting. There are some elements in the background that do not necessarily contribute to the main subjects, but are part of the environment and help set the scene, so keep them. |

It is clear that the image has a lot of post-processing, but I don't really mind because the final result is wonderful. I agree with you that the original (even with the focus stacking) is a below par photo: nothing interesting. On the other hand, through your post-processing all the richness of the flower can be fully appreciated. I love the colors of the picture and I love the sharpness of the image, with all the details in the petals and the leaves. I like the composition also a lot, so I wouldn't change anything. |
