Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
62 Dec 24 Reply Hi Adrian, i believe this is a family of cranes. The top bird with red crown is the male, with the smaller female below. The following bird is a juvenile as it is lighter in color.

62 Dec 24 Comment Adrian, everyone says it all. Finding a potential image within a big scene is very hard to do, you did it. the original image has many distractions, the lines, repetitions and structures compete with each others, difficult for viewer to find the subject. Your crop works very well, human in an image adds interest and action.
Well done.

62 Dec 24 Comment Michael, very interesting simple composition. Black and White fits very well in this scheme. I am going to lookup this style of photography and Cole to learn the simplicity of single cloud composition. Dec 10th
62 Dec 24 Comment Wow, great image. I though I am looking at a posture promoting the city. The reflection works well and quite a story telling image. Well done.

62 Dec 24 Comment Hi Pete, I like both images, the color image captured the environment and your skill to isolate the subject, mother and the child. The mono version is well handled and darkening the background to remove distraction in a black and white image. Great conversion.

62 Dec 24 Comment Chris, very nice Europe street, black and white showoff pebble stones, Freiburg Bachle as part of the leading lines, all are characteristic of Freiburg. I also like the color version with the gentleman taking off his jacket before entering the building, it add interest to the image. Dec 4th
62 Dec 24 Comment Emil and Michael, thank you for your comments.
I didn't even realize that the birds are in different flight stage. This is probably a family with parents leading the juvenile. I have many thousands of sandhill cranes in flight in past few years. This sequence (October 2024) is the only one with least number of birds, in focus and large enough to use after cropping.
