Great image Emil and very good composition. Chris edited version enhance the petals with lights which was in your color version.

Hi Michael, welcome to the group. I like your revised image with the straighten structure. With the bright moon, I prefer the sky a little bit brighter to balance the visual.

Hi Michael,
If I were to enter this image to Pictorial, more editing techniques are allowed.
For Photojournalism, editing is limited to making the image as close to the original scene as possible.
Below paragraph is taken from PSA's photojournalism division.
Allowed editing techniques:
â€Ά Cropping, straightening and perspective correction.
â€Ά Removal or correction of elements added by the camera or lens, such as dust spots, noise, chromatic aberration and lens distortion.
â€Ά Global and selective adjustments such as brightness, hue, saturation and contrast to restore the appearance of the original scene.
â€Ά Complete conversion of color images to grayscale monochrome.
â€Ά Blending of multiple images of the same subject and combining them in camera or with software (exposure blending or focus stacking)
â€Ά Image stitching - combining multiple images with overlapping fields of view that are taken consecutively (panoramas)
You may go to PSA's Photojournalism Division section to read more.

Pete, very nice still live photography. The teapot's craftsmanship is fully illustrated in monochrome. Masking of smoke is nicely done. I especially like keeping thin lines of smoke from both sides.
May I ask how many light source was used?

Pete, I like the little crop to the right. That space does not add impact to the image.
I kept everything same as original for Journalism.
It is Olympics time, so, I am digging out all my sport photos. You may see this duet team at the Olympics. |
