7 Jan 26 Comment All the images I've seen of yours have an artistic flair so coming from you that means a lot - I'm a generalist and this opportunity just dropped in my lap - thanks again Jan 27th
7 Jan 26 Comment Sorry for not responding sooner fellas, but I don't get notified when people comment. And I do appreciate the feedback, so thank you all, but I agree with Hoshedar, I'm not changing anything :-) Jan 15th
7 Jan 26 Comment I thought you did a good job handheld, wow - far better than I could have done. You said it all with your own comments about the light. Jan 15th
7 Jan 26 Comment Hoshedar - the area within the red oval just does not look right to me - perhaps it's the rez - I don't know - but it just doesn't set well with me. Having said that, what a terrific scene, wow! Jan 15th
7 Jan 26 Comment This is gorgeous! You need not change anything. With that said, I did offer an alternative in my VF - increased texture and clarity - I tend to really like contrast, but as noted, a pure alternative, not necessarily better, just a variation - terrific job Barbara Jan 15th
7 Jan 26 Comment A very pleasing shot Tomi - I opened the shadows, reduced saturation and re-cropped in my VF Jan 15th
7 Jan 26 Comment I think this is a classic shot of a cat but there are more than a few distractions - see attached VF Tom Jan 15th
7 Jan 26 Comment Shooting in Zoos always presents challenges and reduce impact for the reasons cited by Hoshedar and Tom - I thought you did the best with what you were presented with and made the most of the subject within the zoo context Jan 15th

67 Jan 26 Comment Thanks Bud, comment appreciated Jan 23rd
67 Jan 26 Comment Capturing dust devils is special; at the same time I'm not sure the dust devil's vertical position in your 2nd try that leads the viewer out of the frame helps the image. Jan 15th
67 Jan 26 Comment Good clarity but merging subjects intersecting with horizon lines are always and issue when photographing wildlife Jan 15th
67 Jan 26 Comment Not much I can add to what has already been said. And as a suggestion, the next time you're shooting wildlife I think you'd be happier if the subject were facing within 90 degrees of the camera Jan 15th
67 Jan 26 Comment I agree with your assessment Larry and I've always believed nature photography is about story first - and good for you to shoot a camouflaged subject - I don't think I would have attempted it - so I learned something :-) Jan 15th
67 Jan 26 Comment Thanks David - correct - the camera fired continuously and the flashes froze the motion so the subject was only "exposed" for about 1/20,000th of a second

73 Jan 26 Comment Thank you Larry - interesting take I will give it a whirl :-) Jan 20th
73 Jan 26 Reply Thank you Gary - sorry for the late response but as I've written I don't get notifications :-( Jan 20th
73 Jan 26 Comment Thanks for the comments folks, all good thoughts - there were trees overhanging both the sky and the cliffs on the left - and I could not agree more, I would have like to have included the bend Jan 15th
73 Jan 26 Comment Ian - excellent job with the processing - the color image is the clear winner IMO Jan 15th
73 Jan 26 Comment Sherry - in my VF I cropped in and down from the left because I thought it accentuated the most interesting parts of this image - LMK what you think Jan 15th
73 Jan 26 Comment Not much I can add to what's already been said, this is a lovely image - kudos Jan 15th
73 Jan 26 Comment Dave - I opened the shadows in the foreground and removed a bit of sky by cropping in and down from the left - I think it adds a bit of depth to this lovely scene Jan 15th
73 Jan 26 Comment Larry,

You've captured a lovely and simplistic scene, but I'm not sure I would connect the title "Last Days of Fall" with the image, so, I agree with Ray - your subject is the windmill. I also agree with Ian that there's a lot of out-of-focus foreground that does little to help the image. I've offered a simpler composition as a possible alternative.
Jan 15th
73 Jan 26 Comment Raymond - one of the most interesting shots of the Bisti Badlands that I've seen - your bxw rendition is stellar and your composition is simply boffo - lights, camera, action, this is a stone cold winner! Jan 15th

97 Jan 26 Reply Thanks for your comment Jeremy - are you now a part of this group? Jan 25th
97 Jan 26 Reply I do not like this website :-( 50% of the time my VF does not stay - it just disappears - anyway, here it is again for the 3rd time Jan 18th

97 Jan 26 Comment Thanks to all and sorry for not responding sooner but I am not notified when someone comments, so unless I think to check every few days I simply don't know - and I think it's rude not to respond when people take the time to review and comment Jan 18th
97 Jan 26 Comment Terrific capture Peter - excellent story, technically well done - I brightened the subjects and darkened the background reducing highlights in my VF - just a super shot and one to be proud of Jan 16th
97 Jan 26 Comment One of the better LBR shots I've come across - kudos on your settings, 1/3200 Tv was perfect. In my VF I upscaled, sharpened, darkened the bright sky at the top of the frame because it's 'noticeable' and reduced both the background saturation and Luminance in LrC, cropped in slightly and did a bit of cleanup on some of the grasses - if that's outside of PSA rules, so be it - my goal is never to change nature but to highlight the best parts of it and I've never felt there's anything wrong with creating 'art' while capturing nature. Jan 16th
97 Jan 26 Comment Ernoe - this is an excellent image - in my VF I kept the same crop ratio but did crop in because I think there's a bit too much blurred grasses and I wanted to eliminate some of it. My biggest issue with the image is that the title does not match what I see, i.e., where's the prey? If the prey were present and clear, the image would be elevated two levels - nonetheless, great perspective and technically well captured although I did some burning to take the eye off the blurred grasses. You did well with this image. Jan 16th
97 Jan 26 Comment Roy - you da "portrait" man! This image is gorgeous! From a technical aspect I'm not sure I see the softness Deborah or Peter allude to. Compositionally it's terrific and the story is outstanding. You know I'm not a fan of partial birds even though I submitted a portrait this month, because they do have their place and this is one. Composition, technical and story are all spot on. I'd be proud to hang this on my wall. If I'm judging a club competition, I would award this the highest score - with such a complementary background, you've filled the entire frame with visual interest. Well done my friend. Jan 16th
