7 May 25 Reply Appreciate your comments Tomi and thank you for taking the time to respond May 24th
7 May 25 Comment I love the opinions from all - Tomi thinks the glare is distracting, I think it's essential to the story - as you said Hoshedar, opinions are subjective - actually I'm happy it initiated a discussion May 24th
7 May 25 Comment Thanks, I ran it by ChatGPT and Chat told me not to change a thing so I sent it to a friend who's a former curator at the Chicago Art Institute and he thought it was salon worthy and basically said what you did - that while he loved it, it likely would not do well in a standard photo club exhibit. So thanks for your thoughts Barbara. May 19th
7 May 25 Comment Thank you for the input Judith, much appreciated May 17th
7 May 25 Comment This is just beautiful Tomi, what a capture - I too flipped the image only because we read left to right and cropped to have the leading line begin at the lower left corner - great shot, kudos May 11th
7 May 25 Comment One could not ask for better light to photograph a subject in - your perspective made the image, terrific job May 11th
7 May 25 Comment Hoshedar, you captured the moment beautifully, anything beyond that is really academic - nice job May 11th
7 May 25 Comment You made a nice modification - thanks Tom May 10th
7 May 25 Comment Judith, you are truly skilled at creating elegant yet simple still life images, a skill I don't have, so nice job. In my VF I added a touch of backlight behind the bloom itself to separate it a bit from the solid black background May 7th
7 May 25 Comment Tom - an interesting shot - I punched it up a bit and removed some of the distracting background May 7th

67 May 25 Comment Thank you Cindy May 20th
67 May 25 Reply Yup, just a rock :-) May 11th
67 May 25 Comment Thank you for your comments Susan

67 May 25 Reply VF = Visual Feedback May 7th
67 May 25 Comment Larry - once again, excellent action and story - and that's the important thing, so, kudos, that said, the image appears a touch soft to me - but love the pano crop, the splashing water and the room in the frame to the right of the subjects May 7th
67 May 25 Comment Susan, you did a nice job capturing the subject and you have an excellent perspective but the subject is facing slightly more than 90* from the camera, which militates against it. Also, the image is a bit busy and you might give thought to cloning or removing some of the distracting foliage May 7th
67 May 25 Comment Cindy - great shot of the killdeer chick but I think you either need the entire reflection or none at all - I'd use PS Remove tool and eliminate the partial reflection - beautiful subject and GREAT perspective May 7th
67 May 25 Comment Bud, you've capture a beautiful subject but I don't think the background helps the image - see my VF May 7th

73 May 25 Reply Thank you Gary - you really made me feel good, so next month I'll use another image shot in the desert - thanks again May 23rd
73 May 25 Comment Thanks Ian - it was the rim lighting of the cactus spines that I was shooting for (no pun intended) and I wanted a pano format. I had just spent two days shooting in Saguaro NP West and I was just at Saguaro NP East for the morning light and this was the last vestige of it. The two sides of the park are as different as the North and South Rims of the Grand Canyon. Thanks for your comments May 23rd
73 May 25 Comment Thanks for your comments Sherry May 22nd
73 May 25 Comment Been there, done that, got the T-shirt six times - but never got an aerial shot this nice - terrific and hope you had a great trip May 11th
73 May 25 Comment Peter, you outdid yourself with this image - I realize I altered it quite a bit in my VF but I just love this shot. I really wanted to reveal the juxtaposition of the mountain on fire with the town in the valley below - so I removed the hand of man except for the town and opened up the shadows below the sun kissed peaks - would love to know your thoughts on what I did. May 11th
73 May 25 Comment The migration is impossible to predict - two years in a row we were skunked, then two years later we arrived in an off season and saw 10 crossings in 5 days - go figure! This is a lovely image. I sense you're not crazy about me 'messin' with your images but I liked this one so much I couldn't resist - I punched up the sky and the hillside and darkened the mane-made walkway along the bottom of the frame - either way, a terrific shot May 11th
73 May 25 Comment Ian - the colors are striking and lots of luck trying to nail them in an image that really relies on color for its impact - too many things going on with color - what you saw, what your camera captured, what you saw on your screen, what PSA saw and what I see on my screen - no way are you going to nail the colors but kudos for trying. As I said, I feel the strength of the image is in its color and the long exposure is apparent in the clouds but you have moving water next to still water on the puddles on the left and that creates a bit of confusion - lastly, the eye is drawn to the left side of the image and the composition doesn't allow the eye to naturally flow to the right May 7th

97 May 25 Comment Thanks Doc, but it appears Kearney Nebraska is the place to view these in March - I heard there were 750,000 last year.
May 11th
97 May 25 Reply I agree - thanks Kathleen May 8th
97 May 25 Comment Roy, you're the artist, but I don't think you lose anything, in fact, I believe your full frame version would score much higher in a photo competition - in this version, in addition to the unique capture, the subject's stance displays an "attitude" - I really feel there's much more power in the image featuring the entire subject - but hey, that's just one man's opinion. May 7th
97 May 25 Comment Julia - TERRIFIC shot! Just love the capture, it's different and that's what makes it special - I re-cropped to 5x7, decreased the vibrance in the green leaves and added a slight vignette in my VF to make it pop even more - nice job May 7th
97 May 25 Comment Christ - perfect moment, crystal clear and sharp, a brightened eye, and a beautiful fan created by the wings, I agree with them all - that said, I don't think you need that much canvas; it's your subject that's interesting and what the viewer wants to see - see my VF May 7th
97 May 25 Comment Kathleen - nature with an artistic flair! This is really nice. The subject's eyes make this image, but the eyes are not the first thing that draws my eye - the first thing I noticed was the large V of the subject's wings - that said, I think the image is beautiful May 7th
97 May 25 Comment Roy, this is a special capture, you should be proud. Having said that, I've always prefered to see the entire subject when photographing birds, if you have the RAW and you did capture the entire bird, that's the one I would present - still, this is a wow image May 7th
97 May 25 Comment Enroe - An outstanding shot no question, what bothers me a bit is the subject's tail is a bit soft, you might also consider increasing the exposure on the subject vis-a-vis its bright white background - nonetheless, an outstanding shot May 7th
97 May 25 Comment Excellent shot Peter (as usual) I think the strength of the image is how you've immediately drawn attention to the subject's eye and head AND that you managed to have a bit of "unfrozen" water behind the subject's head - NICE! Not to shabby of a perspective either ;-) May 7th
97 May 25 Comment I'll try it - no, not for competition. I think it's a pleasant image but not one of high impact, which is what I look for, and that usually means dramatic light, this light is fine, but not dramatic - anyway, we have company so tomorrow I'll blur the background and see what it looks like, you should do it too - thank you Peter May 4th
