I always admire a well done bird photo as it's something I struggle with - I don't have the patience to wait for the right shot. And what could be a better example of dexterity than coming in for a landing and grabbing a target with your feet?! |

Jarrod - I see the connection you're making between being able to gently pick and hold a small blossom and dexterity. I particularly like your perspective looking down, so that her hands look so large compared to her feet. I also like the diagonal feel of the photo; it gives it more energy than I think it would have if you shot straight on. |

I had to go back and check; I took this with my first Fuji X100 camera that I love for street photography. It's a smallish fixed lens camera with a crop sensor, the EXIF data says there is no lens data but that the focal length was 33 mm, so I think that's what the 50mm lens translates to if it was a full frame camera?
ISO 320; f/2.8; SS 1/160 sec. I took this a few years ago and fussed with the images I took in his shop a lot so I don't really recall any details of how I processed it, but I would guess I probably took it from Lightroom into NIK Silver Efex. I like that an app a lot for black and white images. |

Great choice for the topic, and the vertical emphasis makes it. As I study it closely I see the man's face is reddened with the effort of holding her up and his position; the girl, on the other hand, just looks comfortable! |

Just beautiful, both the handwork on the guitar and the way you captured it. His total focus on his work is so clear. Nicely done! |

I don't have much to add here! I had trouble figuring out what was going on with the pulled back version; I couldn't see a nib at all, but It does lose something with only the partial message visible and all that beautiful artwork excluded. Really beautiful work!

I also like the close up photo best. The composition is really good! My only suggestion would be - for this particular topic - would be to possibly tone down the color and brightness of the guitar since the focus was hands. (See attached image). The brighter version is more compelling generally though.
