I live north of Springfield. This shot was taken just across the border into Arkansas. The Milky Way is visible at dark by September, so I didn't have to stay up all night. |

I love the texture of the stump and the detail of the leaves. Nice depth of field to blur the background. |

For me, the busy background and color are distracting. I cropped, blurred the background, toned down the yellows and greens. Overall though, a nice capture of what had to be amazing to see in person. |

I like that you chose B&W. The water on the pier adds interest. I tried a tighter crop on the pier. |

Great detail in the eyes. The imperfections in the wing make me wonder what story it would tell about that. |

The red grabs my attention then I look at the detail in the spokes (or whatever you want to call them!). I think it makes a nice abstract. |
